the girls flat

"You're really mean for lying to him about us having a puppy." Charlotte laughs as Amie puts her phone down, moving her hair out of her face with a smile on her face. Charlotte and Aaliyah were on one half of the sofa, cuddled up under a blanket together as Breaking Bad played on the TV and Amie would be lying if she said she didn't feel like a third wheel.

She had a hard time trying to ask him to come to the flat in case he straight-up said no to her, so she thought trying to bribe him with a fake puppy would work. She could just get her dad to drop off Bandit, but her family dog wasn't a puppy and was the grumpiest animal that roams the earth.

"What does he do?" Aaliyah asks, intrigued by the mystery boy who had stolen her flatmate's heart.

"Leave her alone Liyah." Charlotte warns her girlfriend as Amie started to panic a little. The European girl got up from the sofa and quickly walked to her bathroom, touching up her hair and putting very light makeup on before she returned to the sofa to continue the episode of Breaking Bad.

Her phone started buzzing around half an hour later, Amie immediately rising to her feet and excusing herself from her flatmates before walking out of the flat to go get Billy. She kept her arms wrapped around her tightly as she walked into the lobby, the cold air nipping at her skin as she saw the Scotsman trying to reason with the security guard.

"Hi." Amie smiles softly, the guard and Billy looking at her instantly.

"Can I go in now?" Billy asks, watching the guard look between him and Amie before nodding. Amie laughs quietly, thanking the security before slowly wrapping her arms around Billy's torso, the Chelsea boy smiling as he wraps his arms around her as well.

"You're boiling." Billy smiles, his current temperature a massive difference to hers. She looked up at him with her arms still wrapped around his torso, scrunching her nose up when she felt his cold fingers on her cheeks before he connected their lips in a sweet kiss.

"If you're trying to prove to me you're a good kisser, I'm gonna need a lot more than that to convince me." Amie teases the Scotsman, only for him to roll his eyes and peck her lips again.

He stayed fairly quiet as they walked back to her flat, the girl breathing in and sighing deeply before she opened the door and watched how Charlotte and Aaliyah jumped to their feet with excitement.

Charlotte practically screeched when she saw Billy, hand moving to hold her mouth in shock whilst Aaliyah looked at her with confusion. Billy look equally as confused and Amie was mortified by the sound that had just come out of Lottie's mouth.

"Did you turn into a dinosaur whilst I was downstairs?" Amie asks, shutting the door behind her and Billy.

"Sorry, I just didn't expect your boyfriend to be a fuckin' footballer." Charlotte rolls her eyes dramatically.

"He's not my boyfriend." Amie responds, trying her hardest not to hurt Billy's feelings.

"I'm her future boyfriend." Billy grins, her two flatmates laughing before they all get settled on the sofa.

"She lied about the dog by the way." Charlotte pipes up.

"I could tell." Billy responds, grinning at Amie whose hands were covering her face.

"Y'know if you want me to come over you don't have to lie about there being a dog here, I'll come whenever you like, just so long as your security don't stop me from getting in." He whispers to her, pulling her hands away from her face to intertwine their fingers. She nods in response, letting her head rest against his chest whilst Charlotte chose a film for them to watch.

The room fell silent when Charlotte chose to put on The Karate Kid (1984), her eyes glancing over at Amie who was trying her hardest to contain her excitement. She'd been begging the two of them to watch it with her for months, it was a film she watched plenty of times growing up and she knew every word from the script by heart.

The film continued as Charlotte and Aaliyah fell asleep, Amie not noticing that she was mouthing the words along with Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, Billy just admiring her instead of concentrating on the screen.

"I've got a question for you." Billy speaks up, interrupting one of Amie's favourite parts.

"And what is said question?" She looks at him, eyebrow raised.

"The team are doing some fancy dinner in a few weeks time, and I wanted to know if you'd like to come with me as my date?" Billy asks confidently. He kept his eyes trained on her face for a moment, a few different emotions flashing over the freckled skin before she nodded her head.

"If you're lucky enough you might be able to introduce me as your girlfriend by then." Amie replies, looking away and back at the TV so she didn't have to see his reaction.

He felt those butterflies explode in his stomach again, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head as she cuddled into his warm and inviting embrace. She knew he would be thinking about that comment in the weeks to come, wondering whether or not he'd actually act upon it before this so-called dinner party they were planning.

Charlotte and Aaliyah eventually woke up right as the film was finishing, both Billy and Amie fast asleep cuddling one another for warmth. Aaliyah silently screams in awe before she covers them with a blanket, her and Charlotte disappearing from the flat to go do their food shop soon after.

Amie was the first to wake up and she immediately sat up, looking around the room at where she was before it hit her that she was in the living room. Billy's arm was slung over her waist lazily, his other tucked underneath him as he slept soundly, only waking up when he felt Amie's fingers running through his hair.

"Oi you, you're messing up my hair." Billy complains.

"It already was a mess." Amie laughs, shuffling back so he could sit up and sit cross-legged in front of her.

She looked into his eyes for a moment before she leaned forward and pressed her lips to his slowly, intertwining their fingers in her lap at the same time. Amie swore her head went fuzzy for a moment, the only thing going through it was how much she adored the Scottish boy sitting in front of her.

She had fallen for him, hard, and it only took her a few weeks to realise that. She remembered a phrase her Mum used to say to her 'On ne peut pas mesurer l'amour avec des chiffres', a saying that had stuck with her for years and years after.

'You can't measure love with numbers' was the English term, and Elodie was right, because Amie had known this boy for just over a month and she was already falling in love with him. And he was falling in love with her just as fast, it was just a matter of time before they admitted that to one another.
