My blood is boiling as I see the state of Ciara and I storm over to them, ready to kill them, but I falter in my steps seeing the blade digging into her neck. "Why keep fighting, King?" He spats the title at me. "Your have no one to serve you anymore and this dirty whore you're sleeping with can't even defend herself properly." He sneers and upon closer inspection I see it's my brother. My eldest brother.

"Desmond, why are you doing this? Did you kill Eve?" I try and talk him down as I continue to discreetly assess Ciara. From what I can tell she's barely conscious and she's struggling to keep herself up in his hold.

"I'm not a complete monster, Nolan." He sneers. "As much as I hate you, Evelyn did nothing wrong. She's still pure. Innocent."

"Why would you destroy what is left of our parents?" I try and get to him through or parents.

"That title was meant to be mine, but instead of having their eldest son take control, they chose you. A monster and a killer." He sneers pressing the knife further into Ciara's throat.

"Just let her go, Desmond." I plead, not even caring anymore at how weak it'll make me look. "You can have the crown just let Ciara go."

"That's her name. As disgusting as her skin color is, she is a beauty." He kisses along her swollen jaw and cups her breast and I refrain from attacking. If I attack now they can easily kill her and I don't want that.

"Please give her to me. Please." I beg, Ciara is the only thing I have left. I can't lose her. I refuse to lose her.

"I don't want the crown anymore brother. After I kill you Respiria will no longer exist." Desmond says and laughs loudly. My breath hitches as he signals for his men to grab me and I tighten my hold on my sword. "Don't fight back right now brother. You know what actually I won't kill you. I want you to live the rest of your miserable life knowing what a failure you are. How you failed to protect your people. How you failed to protect your wife."

After he finishes speaking it's as if everything happened in slow motion. The sound of complete anguish and horror that I let out rang throughout the field and I dropped my sword and fell onto my knees as I gathered her into my arms. "Nolan." She gasps.
