The Black Eyed Susan represents justice. These flowers can also stand for encouragement and motivation.
"Rosie I- I think we need to talk"
"'bout what?" Her innoct eyes stared up at him.
He groaned internally, as much as he wanted to bring this up, bringing it up could change things. What if it made her uncomfortable around him.
"Something you said earlier, I just wanted to make sure we are both on the same page, hmm?" Rosie looked up to meet the soft gaze and nodded still unsure of what he was thinking.
Still holding the girl in his arms, corpse moved in to the house again. He placed her on to the bottom steps of the stairs noticing how she was still drifting between her head spaces.
Rosie's eyes wondered the house. They followed the patterns across the ceiling and down the four corners of the walls.
For a man who stayed inside, corpse must have got very bored sometimes, she thought. He decorated the house well. Simple but detailed.
Plants here and there.
A candle holder and a nearly burnt out candle sat in the island counter.
A few pictures hung on the wall barley any with his face, and if there were they must have been from his childhood.
And lastly, a jug holding a few or more flowers. They hung themselves highly towards the sun leaning slightly towards the side.
"What are those flowers called?" She whispered towards the older.
Without looking up from her now untied shoes, he replied "something along the lines of black eyes, can't quite remember but I've got a book if you want to check it out later?"
"Yes please" she replied sheepishly. "I didn't think of you as a person who has flowers" Rosie blurted.
"Hmm, me neither but I like to have meanings behind things more then the actual gesture or object, if you know what I mean" Rosie nodded in return.
Corpse seemed to do a lot of small things that meant alot to someone if you understood what was happening.
Rosie understood.
Corpse grew to a standing position holding out a hand for the little.
He nodded over to the seats once he saw her confused face.
Setting her self in the nest of the corner, Rosie made her self comfortable with the cushions while corpse sat still with his head in his hands. She looked at him curiously, her head tilting.
"What's wrong Alex?"
"Nothings wrong bunny, I'm just not sure how to approach something like this" he gave her a small smile.
"Like what?"
"Earlier you said something to me, and I don't want to make a big about it-" Alex looked her in the eyes, "this doesn't have to change anything but it's important what you said means something to me. And using that term-" he let's out a long sigh and put his head in his hands again.
Rosie pulled her knees onto the sofa and knelt beside the man. She stroked his hair out of his furrowed face.
"Take your time" she whispered, as she continued combing his hair with her fingers.
"I'm supposed to be caring for you yet here I sit with you making sure I'm okay" he scoffed out a laugh. "Like I was saying, do you know what you called me?"
"I do remember, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Was just scared"
Corpse looked over at rosies face more carefully, his finger rose her chin up to look at her soft features.
"It's okay rosie, breath. Now do you know what that means to call someone daddy?"
"Means they care for me?" Rosie questioned. She'd never actually had a daddy but that's what she thought was meant to happen. He would care for her, look after her when she was in little space. Make sure she stayed safe.
"Yes daddy's do care for their littles, it also means the little trusts them, trusts them with their life when they aren't in their correct mindset. Sometimes they are in a relationship inside and out of their dynamic. Sometimes they aren't," he started.
"Like me and jack" Rosie blurted excitedly.
"Yes like you and Jack, except calling someone by that title also shows respect, if I were to be your daddy Rosie, our relationship would change, I would respect you as much as I would expect back, there would be rewards and punishments. But that would all be because I care for you and want the best for little Rosie"
Rosie hesitated trying to take all the information in. She hadn't known how much calling someone daddy meant.
She trusted him. Felt comfortable.
Why couldn't she call him daddy?
