Chapter { 20 } : flashback

Flashback :

"I want you to meet my family", said Liam looking forward.

Mirabella was taken aback by his suggestion, no one has ever requested something like this.

And for a 9 years old kid, it was a pleasure, of course she wanted to meet them, she and Liam have been friends for a little over a year now, and they are bestfriends.

"You don't have to, I mean you're not obliged, you can meet them sometime el-", Liam rambled.

"No... I mean, I want to meet them, I want to meet my bestfriends family", interrupted him the little girl.

Liam grinned widely at her.

There was no doubt he was happy with her answer, she was like a little sister to him, he never understood how can someone be so young, yet so broken at the same time.

They went to his house, and Mirabella couldn't help but let her mouth open slightly at the vew.

They had a really big house, something Mira couldn't even see in her dreams from the lack of imagination.

"Ohh, you must be Mirabella, it's really nice to meet you, liam talks about you all the time, I'm his mother Evelyn, you can call me Evy if you want", said the woman brightly.

"Mom you're suffocating her with your words, let her breath", chuckled Liam.

"H-hi, Evy".

Evelyn awed and led them to the large kitchen to eat.

Yet again bella couldn't help but gauge at everything in front of her.

"Hey mom, have you seen my cap, I put it in the room, and now I can't fin- oh who is this pretty girl?" Asked a boy who looked like the oldest version of Liam.

Lucas was about 17 at that time.

"That's my bestfriend.. the one I was telling you about", shrugged liam sipping his hot chocolate.

"Oh I've heard about you, liam won't shut up about his new friend", said Lucas ruffling bella's hair.

"I'm lucas, darling, you can call me luc if you want",

"Hi luc, I'm Mirabella viola, you can call me Mira or bella or even viola if you want", smiled the little girl at him.

He was interested in this little girl, even at the age of 17, lucas could tell that something was up.

"What a beautiful name you have there, but how about I call you sugarplum, it sounds better", asked lucas, he didn't want to call her by her names, he wanted something special for his little sister.

Mira smiled brightly and nodded her head vigorously at his suggestion.

She was instantly comfortable with this boy she just met.

"Where's dad, he should be here by now?", asked liam.

Glancing at the clock, it read 6: 47, bella started to get worried, she should've been home by 6 today.

"I think I should go, it's getting late", said bella.

"Oh wait for a few, I can call your parents if you want, let them know you're he-", Evelyn wasn't able to finish, because she was interrupted.

"NO,...I mean, you can't call them, they'll get angry", replied bella.

Just after they were about to ask what she meant, the front door opened, indicating someone was here.

"That must be dad, great now he can meet Mira", said Liam excitedly.

Mirabella was worried, she always thought that men were all the same.

A big man entered th kitchen and kissed Evelyn before turning to look at the others.

He glanced at Mirabella and questioned, "and who is this little dove",

"That's my bestfriend Mirabella, the one I told you about", said Liam.

The man glanced at Mira's neck before looking at his wife, who only nodded her head.

Mirabella was confused, she didn't know that there was a bruise on her neck, because she didn't look for ones this morning, and she took off her shawl that was covering it.

"Hello Mirabella, I'm Liam's father, you can call me Ethan", he said crouching beside her.

Mira was still scared, she glanced at Evelyn who gave her an encouraging nod.

"H-hi, I'm Mirabella viola", replied the girl finding a bit of courage in her voice.

After a few years.

They were 11 going on 12 now.

"Hey let's go to my house today".

Mirabella nodded in agreement.

"Oh bella, you're here, I was wondering when you're coming", said Evy as she hugged the girl.

"Yeah, I'm been kinda busy these days", replied bella, while trying not to wince.

They went towards the living room to chat.

"Oh hi sugarplum, haven't seen you around for a while", said lucas while hugging her.

"Yeah, it's been a while".
Bella couldn't come these past couple of weeks, because she's been hurt badly this time, and knew that they have noticed her wincing and have seen some of her bruises.

Ethan could see the signs, but didn't want to believe it.

They have always been the family Mirabella has always looked for.
