John began jogging to keep pace with the figure, he needed to find out if it was really Sera. The figure began to run, but John was prepared for this as his pace was already picking up faster than the person he was chasing.

'It must be her! They responded to my voice and the name!' John thought, with optimism.

He kept up the chase, slowly closing the distance as he knew he was faster than whoever this was. Yet just before John was able to arrive by the side of the mystery individual, they stopped, surprising him. He ran a few more steps past the person, stopping himself, and turning to face them, talking some steps closer so they had no option but to confront him.

'Nowhere to go, I've got you now!' John thought proudly.

"Lift up your hood, I'd like to confirm my suspicion" John commanded the figure.

They did as he said, lifting up their hood to reveal just who John thought he was chasing, Seraphina. However, this wasn't a Seraphina that John remembered as she had some clear differences in appearance, noticeably her hair. She was lacking the defining greenish-yellow highlights that were usually scattered around her magenta mane.

"Sera... You changed your hair? Is that why you were running?" John pointed out.

"..."

She looked away from John, refusing to answer his questions, admitting nothing but an eerie silence.

"You there? What's with the cold shoulder... We haven't really been seeing much of each other lately, so why did you run?" John continued to question.

"..."

Once again, nothing but silence came from Seraphina. She was continuing a cold, cold shoulder that was starting to put John on edge. He couldn't help but wonder what was wrong, he thought they were on better terms ever since his return from New Bostin and the video calls they had with each other over his suspension.

'There's no way she knows anything about tonight. Arlo was the only outsider to be informed!' John thought to himself.

He decided to continue pressing her until something happened, he needed to see a sign of life.

"Sera I-" John began before being pushed out of the way.

"Where are you going, don't walk away! Somethings obviously wrong and you promised to be there for me, so I'm going to be here for you too. Talk to me!" John pleaded.

She stopped, turned around and looked at him, eyes glowing.

"Wha-" John began before he felt his body start to lose feeling.

He was being frozen. Seraphina had used her ability on him to stop him from following her, to stop him from continuing to question her. John started to internally panic, numerous degrading thoughts running through his head at record pace.
