I was always told

That I'm young

And stupid.

And, hence,

I won't ever understand

Someone's pain

Or even someone else.

But when life strikes,

I don't think it considers,

That maybe she's too young.

Maybe I'll let her be.

It doesn't.

Cause if it did,

I would actually have a childhood.

Not broken memories

That I'd rather not remember.

I'd have the innocence of an angel,

And not have to worry

About who's going to hurt me next.

I'd trust and forgive easily,

And wouldn't have to keep these walls

So damn high.

Cause life doesn't consider your age

When it takes everything away from you

And fills you with so much hurt

You'll find no place to love
