You hear the ways of the sea?
How they crash?
And then go back?
How, no matter what,
They always continue
What they're supposed to do?
Ja, I wish we were like that.
I wish every time
That we'd crash,
I'd keep my faith
That we'll go back.
And we may crash again,
And again,
And again.
But I'd always have the courage
To receed back with you.
Knowing that when we crash,
We won't burn,
That pieces won't go flying in the air
Never to be found again.
That tears won't be shed,
And time won't be spent regretting.
But we aren't the ocean, are we?
No.
We're like the storm
That causes the ocean to rise,
That strikes unexpectedly
And all of a sudden,
That lights up the sky
For that beautiful second
Before covering it
With a blanket of darkness again.
We make the sound of thunder.
Our unspoken words
Stomping around our minds
Until it stops.
It all stops and we just lay there
With our eyes closed just for a second
Until we realize we aren't kids anymore.
So, we open our eyes
And look around
And see the damage we've done
And wonder if it was worth it.
But somehow,
After every storm,
We always seem to end up
With the opposite answers
