The world is shaking,
The foundations tremble,
All life as we knew once,
Is gone in a wisp,
Of dust and ash.
Chaos divides,
a shiver in the night,
Nightmares quake,
a presence in itself,
Leaching away, all that we once knew.
Kingdom against kingdom,
Nation against nation,
Tribe against tribe,
Life against life,
How long, 'til we die in this storm?
I raise my eyes to the peaceful sky,
Them asking in a murmur,
"Why do you stay blue?"
Stones ripple in the lake,
Their cries, a broken scream. My heart speaks volumes, through my gaze
Asking them to grant me this wash
I scream at their smug smiles,
And patronizing gazes,
Yearning for it in this last minute.
Just for a moment,
I want to close my eyes,
And see paradise,
Just for a second,
I want to be free of my chains.
In a world where the day is slaved
To the night,
Where chaos rises, her towering head
Glaring at those righteous few,
My one wish, is a moment in happiness.
Where I can be free,
Free to act as my heart deems,
Where my life can be of meaning,
Even if it is so ephemeral,
I want to see the sights that I have always wished for.
So just for a moment!
Whisk me away to paradise,
To the place in my waking dreams,
To the place where I can be
Who he wanted me to be.
Take me away from this closing darkness,
Let me be free,
Where he is still,
Waiting for a glimpse,
Of how far I've come.
Just a moment!
Let me be with him,
Before he goes,
Let me feel him in my arms,
One last... time.
-E L E N AA/n: Idk if this is really a poem. I mean, its basically a song that came to me last night at 2 am (I couldn't sleep, lol). With the tunes and everything. Idk, I may send this to Natalie Taylor's IG page.... in the hopes that she'll sing it... or something. Free copyright ofc. LOL
