"No, it won't."
Mai said before tackling him to the ground.
"Tell me what your up to it I'll kill you."
She whispered to her pinned oponent.

He snuck a pointed feather behind her.
"Oh really-"

She caught it and snapped it in his face griping it in case he could still control it.
"Yeah, really."

He gulped.
The girl's strength was clearly Superior to his own.
She wasn't called 'Champion' for nothing.

"I have back up coming and we're going to take this place down, but it would be ideal if I lived to help them."
He whispered.

She nodded.
"Okay throw me back, I'll help you but this needs to be realistic, if Keiji thinks something is up he'll kill me immediately."

Hawks nodded and threw her back with his feathers.
Then sent more after her.
She went towards him again.

"Turn around."
She whispered.

He did as he was told and before he knew it she had pinned him down and sat on his back.

"What-"
He screamed at the sudden pain between his shoulder blades
Mai was using her claws to expertly carve into him.

"What the hell I thought-"

"Shut it."
She hissed seconds before she dropped something in front of his face.
It was a small blood coated chip.

His eyes widened in realization.
"I didn't-"

"Throw."
She commanded.
He threw her with his wings and jumped up ignoring the pounding pain between his shoulder blades.

She attacked again but not with full force.
He knew that he could trust her, because he knew she could kill him.
But he could see something, she wanted out.
She was one of the people he was sent here to help save.

She tackled him.
"Do you have one."
He asked pushed her down.

"Yes, can you get it without killing me?"
He hesitated.
Could he?
One wrong move and she could be paralyzed, or dead.

"Yeah you obviously aren't confident in that."
She grumbled grabbing his arm and forcibly turning him around before kicking the back of his legs and shoving him to the ground.

He whipped around pinning her instead.
"I can try!"

she easily pushed him back and ducked under his arms throwing her elbow into his gut.
"Not happening dude."

"We are here."

Suddenly the roof of the underground building they were in was completely destroyed and several pro Heroes jumped through.

Hawks tackled Mai using his wings to shield her from the falling chunks of rock and metal
Which she wasn't super happy about.

At the same time all the smaller entrances were blown open and police men and women rushed in and started to help the pro's capture the crowd.
Unfortunately there were several unknown exits that the members the crowd who weren't trying to fight back disappeared into.

Hawks got up to help after the roof stopped falling and in that Moment Mai managed to catch three sleep darts aimed at her.

But she missed one that hit her in the shoulder.

The last words she heard before she was knocked out were from a very loud voice.
"I AM HERE!! TO SERVE JUSTICE!!!"

Hawks looked down at the now unconscious teenager.

"Sorry kid."
He pulled out the dart and threw his Jacket over her.
"Got to go."

He flew out the arena into the crowd to help in anyway he could.

.......................

While the police checked every nook and cranny of the underground stadiums Hawks and a few others went back to the arena.

Hawks wrapped Mai in his jacket trying to cover as much skin as he could and picked her up.

The girl grumbled in her sleep and leaned into him holding her thin tail in her arms.

"So what happened?"
Tsukauchi asked.

"What do you mean?"
Hawks look away from the kid.

"You were supposed to fight their so called Champion right? Who's this."

"Oh yeah, this is the Champion."

Everyone looked at the girl he was holding.
"That's not possible, she would have had to be here for at least two years..."
Midnight Started.

"Five actually."
Hawks expression darkened.
"Today marked five years here."

"She would have been around ten or eleven then..."
Everyone was quite, their information said this had been open around two years, but it was clearly wrong.

It likely gain more and more popularity in the last two years then ever before though.

"What should we do?"
Best jeanest asked.
"She's been here awhile and there isn't a way for us to see how she is mentally at the moment but she could be very dangerous awake."

"She didn't seem to crazy, she seemed surprisingly calculated and focused, but then again that could be because she knew we would get her out."
Hawks added.

"How did she know?"
All might asked.

"I think she could hear my ear piece, she was responding to everything you said."

"As much as I love to hear people talk about me like I'm not here."
The girl mumbled causing everyone to look at her in shock.
"I'm hungry as fuck."

Her eyes were still closed but her other strong senses were awake.

"That dart should have kept you out another hour."
Jeanest said curious about the girl.

"I'm just built different..."
Her voice was barely a whisper.

"What's your name kid?"
Tsukauchi quistioned.

"Mai."
The sleepy girl answered.

He remembered a missing persons case from five years ago that he was assigned to last mouth, but so far he had practically no leads.

"Mai Rika?"

She hummed lightly a muttered something no one could hear.

"We've been looking for you! You went missing five years ago-"

"No shit Sherlock."
He frowned at her words.

"I'm still hungry."
She complained before falling asleep again
