The Kingdom of Corona. Present-day

THE DAYS ROLLED into one and seemingly in the blink of an eye a week had passed, every morning Erica would wake up with Jaclyn firmly wound around her body and whispering sweet- nothings in her ear until she was giddy and smiling like a schoolgirl

This morning wasn't any different, they woke up together bleary-eyed and smiling as they turned to each other, Erica didn't ever think she would ever be this happy. On the morning of her twenty-eighth birthday, she only had Emma and now she had an actual family (granted they weren't with her right now, but she would always hold them in her heart)

But the one person that was there was the person she hoped would be there forever, for she had proved to her time and time again that she wasn't going to leave, even if Erica was pushing her away sometimes, Jaclyn would always come back

And as long as Jaclyn gave her reason to, Erica would always run back to her

"Humph your warm" Erica says as she snuggles deeper into Jaclyn, slipping a hand under the pyjamas she was wearing and using her fingers to trace the tattoos on her back and Jaclyn's eyes dropped close and she hummed

"You like my tattoos sweetheart?"

"Hell yes! They're very cool and pretty, I especially like the one that looks like it's some kind of poem" She traces the immense amount of scar tissue and ink on her back under the shirt, mapping out more areas of her skin, she was discovering all the bumps and scars that she didn't get around to just over a week ago. The story of her life is written out behind her fingertips and that alone is enough to steal her breath away.

"Well this one is a Spanish poem, it reminds me to always be free to myself and rely on the one thing I can count on which is myself and freedom," Jaclyn says, moving Erica's hand to trace the tattoo and she realises at that moment how much insecurity and self-loathing resides within her girlfriend

Anger simmers beneath her skin and it almost becomes uncontrollable, to see the amount of pain that Jaclyn kept hidden and to see her so shy and thinking she was undeserving of loving someone really pissed Erica off

A few months ago, she would have found this behaviour uncharacteristic, but since they started seeing each other, she's slowly begun to unravel just how deep everything is for Jaclyn. She feels everything so incredibly deep and she's faced a lot in her life, sometimes deserved but most of the time she was just a little girl who didn't know any better

Just how she once was

So their kindred spirits and they understand each other

Jaclyn has made herself out to be some kind of monster, who deserves punishment for what she did in the past and she can't see how Erica sees her: Someone who deserves love and affection and respect

But she seldom got that and instead just got hurt over and over again

It makes her want to hurt everyone who has ever hurt Jaclyn Teague
