A week later.

"Mani?" Nylah could hear her mother's voice from outside her door, and she opened her eyes, stretching.

"Come in!" She called back, rubbing her eye as her mom walked in her room.

"Bon maten dous pitit fi! Watch your eyes. How'd you sleep?" Her mom, Malaya questioned, opening the blinds in Nylah's room, allowing the sun to light it up.

Translation : Good morning sweet daughter.

"Good, and good morning. Thank you mama." She mumbled as Malaya sat a tray of home cooked breakfast in her lap, and a cup of apple juice on her dresser.

"You're very welcome. So, today I have a cardiac surgery to do, in about two hours-so I have to get ready to go. Are you free to watch Co or should I drop her off at day care?" Malaya asked, tidying up random things in Nylah's room.

"I can watch her. Will you be gone for long?" She returned a question, biting into her turkey bacon.

"No. As soon as I'm done I'll be back home. I don't have anything else to do today. Your papa is away at work, building that new neighborhood over in Decatur. He should be home around 6 or 7. Kylah is eating breakfast right now and Coco's asleep." Malay caught her up on the family schedule for today, and she nodded.

"Have you spent your allowance already? I have some extra cash on the front table if you need it sweets." Malaya kissed her cheek, and she smiled.

"I'm okay. Thank you. Have a good day at work mama." She replied, and Malaya smiled, kissing her forehead, before leaving her room.

Nylah looked down at her near empty plate, finishing up her breakfast, and then sipping from her cup of apple juice.

Their normal routine started this way-mostly every day. Either her father, Andre, or Malaya would make breakfast for the girls, catch them up on the day's activities, leave for work, and be back in time for dinner-sometimes.

Nylah was grateful for her good, functioning family, because she knew that wasn't the case for everyone. She was happy to be blessed with the family that she had.

After finishing her breakfast, she arose from her bed, throwing the plastic plate in the trash.

She got out fresh lounge clothes, walking to her bathroom that was connected to her room-both decorated with white and soft pink colors.

Throwing her clothes on her counter, she started some steaming hot water, cracking her patio door to air out the bathroom, knowing it was about to get foggy

Throwing her clothes on her counter, she started some steaming hot water, cracking her patio door to air out the bathroom, knowing it was about to get foggy.

After taking a quick shower, she dressed in a cropped top with a pair of gray biker shorts, white socks on her feet.

She sprayed her perfume, moistures her body, and then cleaned up the small mess that she'd made-finally finishing by making her bed up.
