Sang's P.O.V.

Several days go by in the blink of an eye. If I'm not at work or training with Michael, I'm helping Taylor research anything useful about Astaroth and celestial bullets.

There was a change of pace one night. Taylor, Henry, and I all met Sean and the others at their house. It was short and pretty boring, just an introduction and the decision was made that we would be working together. I don't think Henry truly likes any of them, but he trusts them way more than he trusts Michael, so there's that.

But today, I have no training sessions and no work. That is until Jami calls.

She usually texts unless it's important. Usually it's about a job.

"What's wrong?," I ask as soon as I answer. "Is there a job?"

"There is a job," she says. "Probably the hardest one you'll ever have."

"If it's scrubbing the toilets at the bar, I'm not doing that again," I say.

"No, it's not that," she says. "It's about Taylor's birthday. I need your help."

She's right. It's going to be hell if we want everything to be perfect. And it's for Taylor, so it does have to be perfect. After the year she has had, she deserves it.

"What do you need me to do?," I ask.

"I don't know yet," she groans into the phone. "I want to do something the night before, but I have no clue what yet."

"Alright," I nod, even though she can't see me. "Want me to come down to the bar and we can figure it all out?"

"Definitely. But we can't have Taylor suspecting anything, under no circumstances. Make something up, whatever you have to."

"Sure, I'll just tell her I'm going to get my nails done or something," I snort.

"Something believable," she responds.

"Yeah, whatever," I laugh. "I'll be down there shortly."

We hang up and I get ready quickly, before heading downstairs. I was hoping to just slip by her, but unfortunately that is not the case. Because I really don't like the idea of lying to her.

She looks up from her laptop when she sees me. "Where are you going?"

Shit. I didn't really think of a good excuse. "I'm- uh- going to buy a pair of pants."

I mentally face palm. That's the best I could do?

"Fantastic!," she grins. "I've been wanting to shop with you for ages. I wasn't going to say anything but those pants you're wearing are awful."

I frown and look down. They're just sweatpants. Sure they're a little torn up, but who really cares about that?

I stumble over my words. That was really the worst idea for getting rid over. If there's one thing she loves, it's shopping. I have to think of something else. "No, I'm good. I'd rather go alone."

"Please?," she begs. "You know how good I am, I'll help you pick you the best pair of pants. And I'll help you get a good deal." Then she narrows her eyes. "Why don't you want me to come?"

A lightbulb goes off. "I'm going to see Sean. That's why."

"Yes, I knew it!," she claps her hands together. "So getting pants is code for getting your back blown out?"

My jaw drops. "Taylor, it's not like that at all. I am going to get pants, Sean is just going with me."

"Why, so he can feel you up in the dressing room?," she laughs.
