A/N: I really hope all you readers out there are doing okay right now...If you're not, this is a space where I give you full permission to vent your feelings. I'll do my best to respond <3 This isn't a place you need to pretend or convince yourself things are okay when they're not. It's been a really hard couple years, especially for all of us in school, and I feel like everyone is hitting the wall.

"I'll admit, a strange place for a nap." A painfully familiar voice made its way into the council hall. "But it is all too tempting to join in."

Y/N didn't even have the energy to acknowledge Minho. All she could do was pat the ground beside her.

Minho took that spot all too eagerly. There was a heavy weight in the air.

"Feeling it too?" Y/N asked quietly.

Minho sighed and threw his arms out to either side of him, one laying right across Y/N. She swat at it but he just chuckled, leaving it strewn across her.

"Yeah." He admit. "Everyone is."

It'd been nearly two years in the Glade. Nothing had changed. They worked like dogs each day with no real goal in sight, other than the seemingly hopeless concept of escaping the maze.

"What are we going to do, Minho?" Y/N asked. "We can't keep this up forever."

"You're right, we can't." A new voice startled both Y/N and Minho. Somehow, Newt had snuck into the council hall.

The second in command was also eager to join his friends on the ground. It seemed Y/N was the centre of this mess because Newt laid down, using Y/N's ribcage as a pillow. Now she had the weight of two people weighing her down. But, it wasn't bad.

"Any bright suggestions, Newt?" Minho asked.

Newt sighed. Almost as if he were at a breaking point. "None."

The group heard some curious bickering outside. Someone burst through the door. All three kids laying on the floor lazily looked up to find it was Gally. They lowered their heads back down.

"Told you they were in here," Winston trod down the stairs, waving for Zart and Frypan to follow.

"What...are you doing?" Gally asked, dumbfounded.

"They're taking a break, Gally." Winston motioned to the group and rolled his eyes. "Something you need badly."

Gally sputtered. "I do not—"

Frypan cut him off by grabbing onto the builders shoulders and dragging him down into the council hall. The other keepers joined the pre-existing group of gladers laying defeated on the floor.

After some shuffling around and settling, a sigh escaped Gally. "Ok, maybe this is a good idea."

Out of the sun, in the secluded calm of the council hall, it was like the rest of the world was shut out. No one here in this moment had to think about anything other than breathing. There wasn't anything they could do about their current situation...other than lay on the floor with one another pretending things were okay. Laying there, hoping to alleviate some kind of hollow feeling in the chest and crushing feeling of the skull. If nothing else, they could lay there with a collected down heartedness just to know they weren't alone in the struggle.

The struggle of everyday being the same, working to exhaustion, with no real end in sight. Working just to survive wasn't really cutting it anymore. They were all sunken ships.

The council hall door creaked open. Everyone tensed. It was like a drop of water falling on a spider web, the tense feeling radiating though all the bodies that lay on the floor.

It was Alby. Oh, how they were all in trouble.

Y/N and her friends wait for Alby's wrath.

Yet, it never came. Just one more person was added to the group on the floor, a head resting on Y/N's legs.

The girl turned her head to look at Minho with wide eyes, not sure what to do. Or, if she should be saying anything.

"Hey, Alby." Minho broke the silence wearily, cringing. He and Y/N nearly broke out in nervous laughter.

"You all have the right idea, let's just stay here for a while." Alby sounded far more defeated than anyone here could imagine. "I'm so sorry for all of this."

"It's not your fault, Alby." Newt spoke softly. "We're in it together."

"Whatever that may mean somedays." Frypan chuckled, causing a small wave of laughter.
