Undisclosed Location:

Laboratory, ----

-----------------------------------------------

The trio, Doc, John, and Leilah, were working fast to prepare an unconscious Seraphina for departure. Although a war was being waged outside, the guards from within were fully focused on the lab, doing whatever they could to break down the door.

They were effectively cornered in the lab with only concrete walls to greet them where windows would normally be. Secrecy was valued by Spectre, and their architecture resembled it, something that was a downfall in a scenario like this.

"That door is not going to hold!" John relayed over to Doc and Leilah.

"Buy us some time! She is almost ready to go" Doc responded.

John had been watching many things happen to the door, he saw it heat up, freeze, and now large dents were beginning to form in the center. That's when he got a bright idea.

"I'm going out" John announced. "Give me your card."

"Are you insane!?" Doc replied while Leilah simply looked at him, stupified.

"If anyone knows the answer to that... It would definitely be you, Doc." John pointed to him. "Now we can either wait for them, or I can take the initiative and gain the upper hand!"

Doc looked down in thought.

"You understand that if you fail, we are screwed, right?" Doc asked. "I need Leilah's help to get Seraphina ready so she can't come and help you."

John looked down, taking out his mask and pulling it on. Once it covered his head, John looked back up to Doc and Leilah, eyes glowing bright.

"I never asked for help" said John.

For the first time, Doc looked afraid. The man who's ability was to literally scare people, looked like he had just been visited by the devil himself. Then again, this is John we're talking about.

Giving in, Doc spoke up.

"Fine... Just keep them out of the room" he said.

"I know" John replied while turning to face the door.

John closed his eyes to feel the abilities behind the door, seeing vibrant red, blue, and grey, symbolic of fire, ice, and strength. Not having much else of a choice, John took them all, pulsating fire from his hands, feeling the strength overflow him, and knowing he could conjure ice at will.

"Leilah" John called once more. "Is there anyone I should know about?"

"The only person who would give us a hard time is not stationed here, most all the guards are elites however" she answered.

John nodded silently without ever having turned around to face them. Still looking at the door, John assumed his fighting stance and readied a strike. Now ready, John sent his fist at the door with all of his might, sending it flying off of its hinges.

As soon as he saw the door leave its position, John recovered himself and leaped through the opening seeing several guards on his way. The man with the strength ability was hit by the flying door and was taken away with it, leaving only two reasonably powerful guards in the cluster.

John landed, stood up, and looked around at those who surrounded him. They all took a step back at the sight of what just happened, instinctively knowing that the man who just blew down the door was no joke. John turned his head to the man with the flame ability on his right, pointed at him, and used his thumb to slice at his neck for intimidation.
