Nine

No one's p.o.v

Areum stepped closer to Na-yeon as tears started building up in her eyes "N-na-yeon..." Na-yeon looked into her eyes, it was the first time Areum didn't called her using her full name

"You finally called me just Na-yeon.." She said with a slight smile. Areum cupped her face as her tears started falling down her eyes

"Y-you aren't turning into a monster like them.. G-got it?" Areum said with her voice cracking, and Na-yeon slowly dropped her hand "Areum... P-please go... I don't wanna h-hurt you.."

Areum pushed her, not too hard"Yah shut up! Y-you won't turn into a zombie.." She yelled at her, and Na-yeon just looked down, sobbing

" Y-your hands are warm.. And you still aren't getting any nosebleed.." Na-yeon shook her head "I'll turn into one immediately... I wont be in my senses once I turn and I'll end up biting you... Please go"

Instead of leaving, Areum stepped closer to her, gently embracing her in a hug "If I have to turn into a zombie in the end... Then I'll rather you turning me one" Na-yeon broke down into tears, tightly hugging her back

They stayed like that for sometime,and surprisingly, Na-yeon still did not turn into a zombie. But instead, She could hear Areum's heartbeat, and footsteps passing outside

While at the rooftop, Su-hyeok being worried about Nam-ra, he decided to talk to Cheong-san about it

"Cheong-san, are you sure gwi-nam was bitten?" Cheong-san nodded "You remember that girl breaking the phones? She got bitten but didn't turn into one too. He's like her, and I guess Nam-ra too" Su-hyeok nodded, agreeing to Cheong-san "You know in movies some people are Immune, they're like half humans and half zombies"

Back to the science lab, Na-yeon while sitting on the table while Areum stood next to her. Na-yeon suddenly started loving her scent, and it made her crave for Areum. She slowly started to lean in but Areum turned to her "Love?" Hearing that made Na-yeon come back to her senses, and she looked at Areum surprised, realizing what she was about to do

"I-I wanted to bite you" Areum was surprised to hear that "How?? You haven't even turned into a zombie ye-" Areum stopped, as the scene from one of the zombie movies came to her mind "Ah wait wait wait, you're a Hambie?" Na-yeon made a confused face, but Areum giggled and poked her cheeks since she found it cute

"Hambies are half humans and half zombies, they do have zombie powers that starts to show up time to time, but they don't completely turn into zombies" Areum explained with a huge smile, she hugged Na-yeon tightly

"You're not gonna turn into a zombie!" Na-yeon's lips slowly curved into a smile and she hugged back Areum tightly "The zombies won't attack you anymore either, cause you're already half zombie"

"But what if they try to eat my half human side?" Areum laughed at Na-yeon's weird but cute question, she grabbed her chin and pecked her cheek "They won't. Aish you're so cute"

"Ah, Areum, you see, We're in the science lab" Areum nodded, looking around "Wait, isn't this where the problem started? Cause our science teacher locked Hyeon-ju, he maybe knew that this was gonna happen if he let her out" Na-yeon nodded "Is it possible that we find a bit of solution to this in here?" Na-yeon asked Areum who was now looking around the chemicals at the table

"Mhm let's see" They tried to look around, and they went inside the personal lab that their science teacher had. The room had low purple light, and a lot of chemicals and science equipments placed there. Areum and Na-yeon kept looking around, until Na-yeon's eyes layed on the laptop placed there

"Areum, here" She picked up the laptop and put it inside the Laptop case "Let's go to the rooftop, it's gonna be easier now cause the zombies wouldn't attack you" Areum said, and Na-yeon nodded. They picked up the food bag, and the laptop case, before carefully stepping out the lab.

Good thing they were at the second top floor, so just one floor and they'll reach there. They managed to get to thw stairs without making any noice and slowly started moving upstairs but Na-yeon stopped Areum as she was about to go up cause she heard footsteps passing by

She held onto Areum's hand tightly, and slowly started moving upstairs, they stopped when they saw a zombie pass by but continued when the zombie was out of the sight

They reached the last floor, and carefully went upstairs and reached the rooftop door. Areum slowly knocked on the door, which caught the attention of the people present there

"Areum and Na-yeon, its them" Cheong-san slowly stepped towards the door. He looked at the others before he opened the door, letting Areum and Na-yeon inside

"Are you guys okay?? Were you bitten?" Cheong-san asked, checking up on Areum "Na-yeon was.. But she did not turn into one, its been long" Cheong-san looked at Na-yeon who nervously stood behind Areum, holding onto her hand tightly

"She's immune, like Nam-ra and Gwi-nam, they got bitten but they did not turn into zombies" Su-hyeok said stepping up

"Na-yeon, you gotta say something to them right?" Areum said, turning to look at Na-yeon who was looking down at her feet

"I-im sorry... I wasn't in my senses at that time... I know I cannot bring back Gyeong-su and Ms.Park with a sorry but...idk...I'm just very guilty about what I did.." Everyone just stared at her without expressions

"Mhm it's okay.. We can't change what happened tho.." Joon-Young said, and everyone seem to agree with him "Just don't do anything like that again" Su-hyeok said, and Na-yeon nodded

"We got you guys some food" Dae-su got super excited that he hugged Na-yeon but pulled away soon "Ah, sorry, are we allowed to hug you or not?" Na-yeon smiled at him and nodded

Na-yeon gave him the food bag, and they all seemed happy, the girls giving hugs to Na-yeon except for Nam-ra who stood at the same spot where she was earlier

Na-yeon slowly walked to her and stood in front of her" I-I'm sorry.. I know you're still mad at me... And it's valid... I never treated you like a class president but when we were in danger I put everything on your shoulders...." Na-yeon apologised, and Nam-ra watched her with a straight face

" Is the hugging option still on? " Na-yeon looked at her" Huh? " Before Na-yeon knew, she was embraced in a hug. A smile appeared on her face as she hugged Nam-ra back tightly

" I'm glad you both are safe"
