Colby and I were currently in my kitchen, baking a cake. Well, I'm baking the cake while he's watching.

He flew back in from Kansas last night knowing he spent thanksgiving there.

We're currently making a cake for Sam's birthday. It's currently two pm and we're all supposed to be at their house at four thirty.

We were going to eat this surprise cake and then go out to the bars around eight.

I don't care if I got to work, I'm getting drunk for Sam. We were waiting for the cake to get done in the oven.

"How come you don't tell people you can bake?" Colby asked curiously.

I sigh as I hop on the counter. Serena was still asleep from a long night out.

Evan and Wesley were at the 'store' getting greens. "I don't know, I think it ruins my image." I wasn't joking either.

For so long, I was called the adventurous girl or the rule breaker. So I think I've been a little nervous about saying I enjoy baking and like it.

He looks at me suspiciously. "It's like how I didn't expect you to be in band." He nods his head like he understands.

"Why you can't be both? A baker and an explorer. I mean, I'm both a band geek and I'm a little emo who likes exploring."

I hate to admit it but he did did have a point. "I think I've just been super insecure because I don't want to look soft." I pout towards him.

I could see him soften up as we talk. I've never opened up this much to a person before.

It was nice though. I know I can trust him and he won't judge me.

"Jordan, there's nothing wrong with looking or acting soft." He tells me wholeheartedly.

"I might look hard and tough, but I'm the biggest mommas boy there is. And there's nothing wrong with being both a little hard and soft."

I give him a soft look while looking at him. I don't know how he's made me rethink everything.

"Thanks, Colbs. I don't know what I'd do without you." I admit to him.

He flashes me a smile while shrugging. "You wouldn't have a hot best friend." He was trying to get me to call him hot.

But it wasn't going to work. "Serena is pretty hot." He took a deep breath.

Before he could say anything else, the oven started beeping signaling that it's done.

He grabs two ovenmits and pulls it out for me. "You think he'll like it?" I ask worried.

I'm always scared that when I bake something it won't be just right.

"I can taste test it." Colby offered making me laugh. He's been trying to taste test it the whole time, no matter how many times I say no.

"You're so fucking annoying." I laugh to myself. As I get the icing to put on the cake, Evan and Wesley walk in with bags.

"It smells good in here. You baking?" Evan asked walking up to us.

I nodded my head as I look at them. I could tell they just got done smoking weed by their eyes.

"Can I have some?" Wesley asked hopeful while walking towards it.

He went to grab it but I smack his hand away. "It's for Sam's birthday today. Get away." I push him.

He rose his hands in defense and looked over at Evan. "Damn." I laugh as I start icing the cake.
