"All we need is to take that stake from him," Elijah paused for a moment as his eyes scanned the continuing Matt, Stefan, and Elena, he then continued, "Once he's been disarmed, the weapon's in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth and Alaric will follow us." He explained. His manner was completely calm as he spoke, acting almost as if there wasn't a chance he would never see his younger brother again and that his siblings weren't the targets of an Original stronger than themselves.

"And you'll just run?" Stefan asked, skeptically. He was more than shaky on the topic of trusting any Mikaelson. In his eyes, every single time someone had trusted them, they stabbed each and every one of them and ended with either him or the people he cared about being stabbed in the back.

Way to go Saint Stefan.

Elijah watched as Stefan sat down next to the current doppelganger. His distaste for the said girl only seemed to grow by the moment, not that he would ever express that verbally. "We've done it before. Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's another half century while Elena is able to live out her natural life?"

Elena sighed, wrapping her arms around herself, "We've finally stopped him, Elijah. After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you bring him back."

It didn't even begin to cross the young woman's mind that there was someone new who had an emotional attachment to Klaus. That she cared more about him than she had about any person in a very long time. It also didn't bother to cross her mind that said person had been there the night that Alaric was created.

And before she realized all of that— it would be too late.

Whether that be for them or Elliot.

"I give you my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus within yours nor even within your children's life times. Perhaps that will finally teach him some manners."

Matt seemed to finally grow some balls, even when in the presence of a vampire that was ten times older than him, "Why should she trust you? All you've done is screw her over."

Elijah briefly looked away, refraining from speaking any inner thoughts that contradicted the very words that the boy had spoken. He then turned back to the group. "And for that I am deeply ashamed. But know this, she could have been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight, so Elena, I leave you to make the decision whether to trust me or not."

Before anyone else in the room could speak, there was a rustling on the other side of the phone that rested in the middle of the wooden table. Damon's voice soon was heard. "Not!!" He exclaimed. "Hello? Did that concussion give you brain damage?! His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!"
