LUNA AND THE DOCTOR SHARED A HORRIFIED LOOK, ALL PREVIOUS FIGHTING FORGOTTEN. She grabbed his hand, knowing how hard this must be for him, and he pulled her closer gently, wanting nothing more than to feel her against him. Wanting this all to be a dream.

Dalek-humans? Had they really gone so far?

"These humans will become like me," Dalek Sec spoke again. "Prepare them for hybridization."

"Wait here," the Doctor whispered in Luna's ear before sneaking off behind a round of equipment. Luna straightened, fear surging through her chest and into her hands, but she clenched them into fists. She would not show her fear, not to the Daleks.

The pig-men snorted and grabbed Martha, Frank, and Luna.

"Leave me alone! Don't you dare!" Martha shouted.

But before the pig-men or Daleks could do anything else, old-fashioned music blared through the room.

"What is that sound?"

"Ah, well, now," the Doctor poked out from behind the equipment. "That would be me. Hello. Surprise. Boo. Et cetera."

"Doctor?" Dalek Sec asked.

"The enemy of the Daleks," another Dalek shouted.

"Exterminate!"

"Wait!" Dalek Sec held his arms out.

Luna tilted her head, confused by the action. Stop them? Why?

"Well, then," the Doctor spoke again, stepping towards Dalek Sec, "a new form of Dalek. Fascinating and very clever."

"The Cult of Skaro escaped your slaughter."

"How did you end up in 1930?"

"Emergency temporal shift."

"Oh," the Doctor chuckled darkly, "that must have roasted up your power cells, huh? Time was, four Daleks could have conquered the world, but instead you're skulking away, hidden in the dark, experimenting. All of which results in you."

"I am Dalek in human form!"

"What does it feel like? You can talk to me, Dalek Sec. It is Dalek Sec, isn't it? That's your name? You've got a name and a mind of your own. Tell me what you're thinking right now."

"I...feel...humanity," Dalek Sec turned away, ashamed by his words. Luna raised her eyebrows, moving to step towards the Doctor and Dalek Sec, but the pig holding her squealed and gripped her tighter. She rolled her eyes in frustration.

"Good. That's good," the Doctor told Dalek Sec.

"I feel everything we wanted from mankind, which is ambition," Dalek Sec turned around again, stepping towards the Doctor defiantly, "hatred, aggression and war. Such a genius for war."

"No," the Doctor shook his head, "that's not what humanity means."

"I think it does! At heart, this species is so very Dalek."

"All right, so what have you achieved then, with this Final Experiment, eh?" The Doctor shouted at them all, maneuvering between the Daleks and scowling at Dalek Sec. "Nothing! 'Cause I can show you what you're missing with this thing. A simple little radio."

"What is the purpose of that device?" Another Dalek asked.

"Well, exactly. It plays music. What's the point of that? Oh, with music, you can dance to it, sing with it, fall in love to it. Unless you're a Dalek of course. Then it's all just noise," he pointed his sonic at the radio and a loud, blaring static noise erupted through the room. The Daleks all screamed, and Dalek Sec covered his ears in annoyance. The pig-men squealed, letting go of the humans.
