It's thorn aren't always visible
But there'll be days you will get pricked
There'll be days where you'll have someone
To look after your prick
Bandage it and kiss it better
Bu there'll also be days
Where you'll want
To let your blood truckle down
Stain the carpet, maybe
Love is many things
And pain is one of them
You can't feel happy without feeling sad
And it's never been possible
To feel loved without being hurt first
It's always after you fall that you learn
It's after it starts bleeding
That your mum runs up to you
And cradles you in her arms
As if she could shield you
From what's already happened
Love is pain
And it's unadulterated joy
Its happiness like no other
When its happiness with someone you love
It's not the same as
Eating an ice cream after a long time
Or your favourite characters
Finally ending together
It's not the same as the villain losing
Or the guy falling
It's different
It's being on top of the world
And knowing you aren't alone up there
It's laughing and not caring who hears it
It's hugging each other
Unbothered by how inappropriate
It may seem to those watching
It's clutching on to your stomach
And knowing it's a good pain
Knowing that you have someone with you
That'll finally let you feel the good hurt
Love is a bed of roses
And even if the thorns aren't always visible
So, take my hand,
My whole being
I'm ready to bleed.
