did you miss us?

my breathing started to become heavy, the security guard narrowing his eyes at me through the door as i mumbled to myself.

what happened?

you disobeyed us, are you going to do it again?

n-no i promise just please get me out of here i miss eve-

we know, luke, so how about you let us take over hm?

i nodded to myself, feeling the security guard's stare burning through me. i stood up, going over to the door and knocking gently.

"what do you want hemmings?" the obviously annoyed guard asked.

i woke up in my bed.

my, bed.

i slowly got sat up, feeling a pain shoot up through me and i yelped. footsteps were digging into the floorboards and the bedroom door swung open, ashton now kneeling down by my side.

"are you okay? what hurts?" he asked, cupping my cheeks and searching my eyes for any kind of pain. i shook my head lightly as tears started to prick my eyes.

i sniffled, wanting to break down for some reason. Ashton obviously noticed and pulled me into his chest. all at once, words started to spill from me.

"i-i don't w-w-want to go b-back there." i cried. hot tears were streaming down my face, someone's hands playing with my hair gently. "why d-did you m-make me go b-back?"

i started to shake uncontrollably, ashton tightening his grip around me. he hadn't said a single word to me yet.

"luke, you're not going back okay? it's been three days since you got out. i promise they aren't going to take you away, you're in my care now." he said softly, pulling me away slightly to wipe my tears away with his thumb.

i nodded slowly, trying to process what he said. three days. what happened?

"why did they decide to take me out?" i asked, trying to keep my cool this time. the tears seemed to stop and ashton's hands now laid by his sides.

"you showed signs of improvement, and really fast too. you said everything was silent and they did this x-ray thing on your brain to see any signs of stress but you seemed normal. i'm so proud of you."

i was pulled into a quick hug before ashton stood up and walked out of the room for a second.

"here, you have to take these every morning though." he said tossing me the small bottle. they contained the same light blue pills and i huffed, crossing my arms.

"no, i'm fine."

"luke."

"no."

ashton sighed, running his fingers through his hair before inhaling a deep breath. "fine, but for the most part you're taking them okay?"

i nodded in agreement and he smiled. "i'm inviting calum over so take a shower and change into something different. you've worn the same clothes since you left."

he chuckled towards the end and i rolled my eyes before getting up and going to the shower. it was simple and short, once i got out calum was already here and i quickly changed into some shorts and a tank top.
