Sokovia, two years ago.

You woke up in a jolt, trying to breathe normally.

Your cell was as dark and damp as ever, and the camera in the corner of the wall followed your sudden movements intently.

Gasping for breath, you sat up, running your hands through your hair.

Every time the serum started to leave your system, you had nightmares. The memories of your life coming back to the surface.

You gasped in irritation, getting up to lean against the bars of the saddle.

The guard on the opposite wall continued with an impartial face as you glared at him angrily.

"What time is it?" You asked and he gave a small smile.

"Go to sleep, dog."

You clenched your jaw, and tried to look beyond the hallway.

There were other doors, all with large padlocks on the locks. You wanted to know where Bucky was, but nobody here would tell you anything.

You would have to wait until morning, when your master would read the mission report and ask why you didn't complete your objective, and you would be punished for it.

Your body was tired, but your mind was awake.

"Where is my master?" You asked the soldier, and he made no mention of answering. "Please sir, where is the winter soldier?"

The soldier seemed to grow impatient and advanced to the door of your cell only to strike the rifle from your face, the impact making you grumble in pain and stagger backwards. But the pain faded quickly, your healing doing the work.

"You and that American trash are going to be punished for the last mission." He warns sounding satisfied. "But unlike you, your traitorous friend will not heal so easily."

You clench your jaw and move forward, but the soldier backs away with a little smile before you can reach him through the bars.

"You're so much fun when you're awake." He remarks as he returns to his guard position.

Before you can tell the soldier to go fuck himself, a loud scream echoes in the hallway and you widen your eyes in surprise.

The soldier gives a little chuckle.

"I guess his punishment started early."

You punch the door in front of you, and the soldier gives you a warning look.

"Don't be so angry, honey." He says in a teasing tone. "It's almost time to apply your serum, you won't even remember him in the morning."

You growl in anger, and glare at the soldier, but he just smiles.

Frustrated, you sit back down on your bed.

All that's left is to wait, since there's not the slightest possibility that you will go back to sleep now.

As soon as your cell door was opened, there was a rifle against your head.

If you resisted the application, the soldiers would just shoot you in the face and apply it while you were unconscious. But if you didn't do anything, you'd forget about Bucky until the next application, and judging by the way things worked, he'd be unit-shifted and you'd probably never see him again.

So your best option was to fake a reaction to the serum. As soon as the soldier sat down beside you and inserted the first vial, you grunted in pain and pretended to have spasmed with your arm, hitting the basin where the other vials were.
