{Chapter 12}

Athaniel's POV

Since she was looking unbothered by what they were saying I just ignored them too, because they were getting annoying

'No wonder Claude has a bed behind his Throne, I would also want to rest after this, they just keep talking not minding that the people they are talking about are right Infront of them'

While I was thinking that Claude spoke up again

"Now I know that it may be somewhat pretentious but I would also like to announce that it is also Athaniel heres birthday, so I expect that you prepare gifts within the hour" he said with a look in his eyes that say 'Disobey me if you dare!' kind of look

Then the next part is kinda funny, they just froze for a second before they started ringing they're Household or acquaintances to get the best gift they could get

Claude then continued

"The one my son likes the most shall be awarded something deserving of the gift" He said as he rested his head on his hand closing his eyes

His words lit up something in their eyes, as they tried to hurry to get the most expensive gift they could get, while I was just thinking on what to give to the Nobles instead

'Why the hell do I have to pick? Oh well I wonder what I should give them... Maybe just something simple like a necklace or something like that Meh I could even just give them some gold or something I honestly don't care'

The Nobles just scrambled like rats that got discovered stealing food, it was honestly funny seeing them like that, considering that they would  always  be trying to look perfect, but now they're acting like this

Anyways other than watching the Nobles scramble around like rats, there was honestly nothing else I could do other than sleep, so I just kept looking at the Nobles trying find any one I know, and maybe overhear what they're getting

When someone caught my eye, is that over there in the corner of the ballroom was Duke Rogers, who I think is talking to someone else in that corner, I can't really tell who it was cause they were in a very crowded space

'It seems to be a Noble with Blonde Hair and... Crystal blue eyes!?!?, Why isn't anyone noticing that he looks the same as their former Emperor!?!'  I frowned, but as soon as I noticed that he was looking at me I smiled, while he smiled back and waved

'Don't tell me only I can see it? No actually how come only I can see him without his disguise? Could it be he did it on purpose?!'

I looked away from him and looked the other direction because I didn't want to look at him

'Don't tell me that's actually him?! I guess it could be possible, I can't remember when he became Viscount Patterson, Still I don't wanna meet him yet!'

You know what I'm just gonna ignore those two for now and after about 45 minutes it was time for the gifting or whatever

They then started introducing the people, and then said out loud what they're gift was, and how rare and magical it was Bla bla bla, and then they gave it to the Butler and got it inspected before giving it to me

All the other nobles just kept bragging of their gifts until Claude got annoyed, anyways they game me many kinds of things like protective necklaces, some one of a kind jewelry, and even gotten my own recorder or two, heck some of them even had pictures of they're daughters sneaked inside their presents like aren't I too young for a engagement!?!?

Anyways there were some I was interested in like these mana stone necklaces that if you crush the stone you can replenish your Mana quickly so it's good for emergencies

So I rated it a Three out of Five Stars because you can only replenish a little amount of mana because of the small size of the stone but it should work well

This was given to me by one of the middle-tier Nobles so he is on the list of potential people that I would have to give something back

There were also a special mana conductive sword which allows you to fuse your Mana with the sword much more easily that those which are not mana conductive

it was given my one of the Higher-tiered Nobles this time, apparently they had to go overseas to attend a auction

Though it was too big and heavy for me to handle right now I can just use magic to lighten it's weight and then shrink it

So Four out of Five Stars cause it may be too much for a child to have right now

Next we have a a pair of daggers that are surprisingly very light, so it was very easy to use even for a small child like me, and they have a function to hide automatically to a special belt that is used to hold the daggers which doesn't stand out

So it is very convenient to have, and you can keep it on you at all times and now I don't have to worry too much about being attacked

So it shall be a... Four and a half out of five stars!

Now as I was deciding on what was better in my head I saw Duke Rogers and Viscount Patterson head up next

"Blessings and glory upon the Second Sun of the Obelian Empire! we are Duke Rogers and Viscount Patterson" They both Said as they bowed down

"You may rise" Claude said, the same as he did with all the other Nobles

At this point I was getting nervous, I really don't get why

"Your Majesty and Your Highness, we present to you our gift" Duke Rogers Said as he uncovered a tiny box, in it contained a Small Jem that looked kinda similar to the ones on the Mana stone Necklaces from earlier

"Your Highness, this is a pure Mana Stone that was naturally condensed by nature,  And it has been untouched my man for tens of years until today" He stopped for a breather, and then continued

"This is a treasure you can only find buried deep underground, which I had managed to find it just a month ago with Viscount Patterson here, and can help replenish a significant amount of Mana back, so it's is not easily replaced"

'That should be pretty rare right? Welp guess I found the winner! Wonder what I have to give them, wait do I have to give the two of them something? I don't have anything that found interest them right?' I started to regret my existence at this time

"Very well, is there anyone else who hasn't given their gift yet raise your hands if not then Athaniel shall now decide the Victor" Claude said as he looked around

No more nobles raised there hands afterwards, so it seems that everyone was done

"Athaniel who's gift did you like most? You just need to tell me who and then we'll award them and then we can eat lunch okay?" Claude whispered to me, which shocked the Nobles for the third time today cause they've never seen so gentle

"The one I liked the most was Mr white's and Patterson's gift! It looked very pretty, and reminded me of you!" I whispered back, while my thoughts were very different

'What the heck am I saying even saying right now?!? How the hell would I get reminded of Claude by a Stone! Damn my mouth and whatever comes out of it!'

"Oh really? Reminded you of what? Answer honestly" He whispered again

"Well uhh it's color reminds me of your eyes! And uhh like the gem you're very pretty!" he just chuckled at my embarrassed face

'Shit! What did I just say to Claude!? He's pretty?! Wait a second Is he laughing at me?!?'

Soo... The Nobles are now statues that we will ignore, for now at least

Claude then motioned the two to come over, which they did

"You may now state what you desire but it is up to us to decide whether you shall receive it " Claude said as he called the two out after the two discussed what they wanted
