You stood frozen. Heart pounding.

"What's going on?" You said slowly. Your eyes trailed to each of your friends before once again landing on Mike. Slowly you stepped forward.

Mike sent you a smile, hopping from foot to foot. You'd never seen him so nervous. "Hey, Doll," he said softly.

     "Uh, hey," you replied.

Mike's eyes trailed over you, his face shining with adoration. You stopped in place. Finding yourself lost in the oceanic abyss that was Mike's eyes.

"Mhm, hm," Henry coughed, elbowing Mike in the ribs.

"Oh, uh," Mike gasped, seeming to snap back to reality. He coughed nervously into his arm. "(Y/n) (L/n)," he began, taking a small step towards you. "When I met you, I knew you were special. Although you were closed in around me at first, I could tell you were an amazing woman. And you proved me right."

You swallowed the nervous lump that began to form in your throat. Was this really happening?

"You're so kind, loyal, funny, and so, so strong. Through everything that's happened, you've managed to hold on. Trying your hardest to be there for everyone."

You felt weak at the knees.

"You're an amazing, boss, co-worker, friend, girlfriend." Mike paused, taking in a shaky breath as he got down on one knee, "And hopefully. An even better wife."

Your hands flew to your face as you gazed down at Mike. You couldn't believe it. This was actually happening.

"(Y/n) (L/n), the love of my life." Mike pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket, holding it out to you with shaking hands. "Will you marry me?"

Silence filled the room as you stared at your boyfriend in shock. This was why they'd been ignoring you? They had been planning this? Realisation flickered through your brain. That's what he had been talking to his parents about that day, and that's why he's been spending so much time with William Henry. They weren't excluding you. They were trying to do something for you.

Tears came to your eyes. But they weren't sad tears. No.

Because at that moment, standing in a circle of rose petals, Mike down on one knee. You felt content. Happy. Complete.

     "Yes," you whispered.

Mike's eyes widened, "What did you say?"

You began to laugh, nodding your head. "Oh, Mike, yes! Heck yes!" You grabbed Mike by the lapels, yanking him towards you. Your lips smashed into his and you kissed him passionately. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes," you laughed once you'd pulled away.

You'd never seen so much joy on Mike's face as he beamed down at you, his eyes full with the utmost love. Everyone started cheering, shouting congratulations but you could barely hear them as you stared at Mike. He was the only thing on your mind. He bent down low, placing a gentle kiss on the back of your hand, before sliding a shining, silver ring onto your finger.

You stared at it in awe. It was beautiful. You weren't a girly girl, Mike knew that, so the ring was somewhat simplistic, yet beautiful all the same. It looked as if it was made of vines, and it shone a stunning silver. It was perfect. Mike was perfect. You looked up at him to see him staring at you with a wide grin. He wrapped a hand around your waist and pulled you closer.

"I love you, Boss," he whispered in your ear.

You shivered. "I love you too Schmidt.

"Aw, you two are adorable!" Molly cried. She pulled the both of you into a hug and Mike sent you an amused look.
