Chapter 70

Author's POV

The talk with her father was, what should we call it? A success! Namjoon was given the blessing and of course, some warnings. When they arrived back, they surprised their lovers with the bouquet of flowers that they got for them. It was surely a romantic act from the two. Namjoon got a stem of daisy for Hwayoung, too. And secretly, he handed Taehyung a single stem of white rose.

"Go. Give it to her." Namjoon encouraged.

Taehyung nodded and walked towards the clueless Ara, who is cooing at her cousin's bouquet. He faked a cough to get her attention and when she turned around to check him, she was surprised.

"For you, Ara." Taehyung extended his arm, holding the rose towards her. "I, uhm.... I hope you like it." He said sheepishly.

Ara was too stunned to speak. The thought of receiving a flower from Taehyung is still processing in her mind. Is this for real? Well, to bring her back to reality, Seoyeon nudged her waist and it startled Ara a little.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry." She said as she bowed before accepting the flower. "Thank you, uhm, Taehyung. I love it, really." She smiled reassuringly.

After that sweet interaction, they then proceeded to have their lunch. It became an eventful one. Lots of stories about Seoyeon's childhood were told. Taehyung and Namjoon shared some of their stories too. Some of them were embarrassing and funny, and you can hear the melodious laughter in the dining area as they speak.

When they were done having lunch, Seoyeon helped her father in washing the dishes. Just like what they always do. Meanwhile, the rest are in the living room, being accompanied by her mother. She talks to Namjoon about his experiences as a father to his daughter, while Taehyung and Ara are enjoying each other's company.

Later on, after doing the dishes, Seoyeon went to join them in the living room. She then sat beside Namjoon and gave his cheek a peck. Her mother excused herself for she and her husband needed to go to the shop. Now that they are all alone, Seoyeon decided to ask Namjoon about his talk with her father.

"Love," She called, "How was your time with appa?"

Namjoon placed his arm around her shoulder, "It was nice, love. He gave me his blessings, so is your mother." He said and kissed her head.

Seoyeon smiled, "I knew you would kill this meet-the-parents day." She joked and gave him a thumbs-up.

"Thank you for believing in me, my love." He uttered as he nuzzled his nose against hers, giving her lips a quick kiss. "Would you like to spend the night at my place?" He then asked out of the blue.

"Tonight?"

"Yes, love. After we send Taehyung to the airport, you said you'll ride back to Seoul with us. I was wondering if you would like to go home with us?"

"Hmm...." She hummed as she thought, "Sure, love." She finally answered.

"Really?" Namjoon asked with pure delight.

"Really." She replied with a chuckle.

She almost squealed when Namjoon suddenly pulled her into a hug. It made her laugh to hear his giddy sigh, it was as if a child felt so relieved and excited. Namjoon couldn't contain his smile and peppered her cheeks with soft kisses.

"Does that mean we can cuddle till we fall sleep?" He whispered as he looked at her with anticipation.

"Cuddle?" She asked while ruffling his hair, "I like that." And a smile formed on her lips.

The afternoon went very well for them. It was like a quality time for them and a chance for Ara and Taehyung to know more about each other. They eventually became friends and it was as if Taehyung forgot about his heartbreak for a short while.
