Alright, she has never been the sharpest knife in the draw yet...even she could tell something was odd when she stepped afoot in the guild that day.

Her frown grew as she felt burning gazes and rapid whispers from those near her. And before you can call her overly sensitive, she literally caught her name or that of her friends being brought up countless times. That and the seamless stares that won't avert even when her eyes had met with theirs.

"...." She even sidestepped, to see if their gazes would follow her. And they did. She awkwardly waved before rushing to a table that her friends had claimed as theirs.

Yeah. No.

She dashed towards her friends, wailing. "What the heck with today?! Do I have a bad hair day or something?" She fretted over her hair before her face turned pale. "Wait, don't tell me I have something on my face?!" She turned paler when she thought of the worse possibilities for those stares. The last time she got stares, she had toilet paper stuck to her shoes.

Kathryn curled her lips at her words. "Why are those your questions?"

"Well, people keep staring at me and I don't know why!" She groaned, slumping into Avelyn's arms who patted her hair in comfort. Hissing at the unwanted stares like an angry cat. "I don't like it!"

She humped when she heard Erina sigh. "Cynthia, hon. They're not only staring at you."

Roselyn groaned, "they're staring at all of us." She inputted which Cynthia could hear the exhaustion in her tone. Eh?

Cynthia lifted her head from the comfort of Avelyn's arms. Confusion was brimming on her face. Fortunately, her question was answered when Kathryn explained how their success over the corrupted Dark Kulid quest had impressed plenty of people. Oh my.

Even those men from before now looked at them with great respect. A complete change from the mockery they received for their age and gender. Heck, the very same one that had provoked Cynthia even apologized and congratulated them...even after Cynthia had flipped them off. Ah, good times.

"Okay, but that doesn't really explain the weird treatment..." Cynthia furrowed her brows, why did one measly quest had completely changed their whole reputation in the guild? It was just an A-Rank which, yeah was pretty high ranked but wasn't something that to be fawning over for. Plenty of adventurers had completed such quests before. What makes them any different-oh

She stared with beaded eyes when Clara later clarified the situation. She breathed through her nose slowly, breathing deep. Okay, let her digest this. Apparently, that A-Rank quest was supposed to upgrade to an S-Rank one. However, its poster was outdated and wasn't able to be changed before Team CPS could have taken it. The risk of the quest had increased when more and more adventurers, from other guilds, had failed to return safely or even returned at all. Oh-

"Oh really?" Despite that calm smile, Avelyn had a vein had practically bulging in rage. Great, a crucial piece of information that the mayor apparently forgot to tell them. Wow. She knew the village was odd. Despite how desperate they were, the village was much too eager to send a bunch of eleven-year-olds to their possible doom. No questions or any doubt, just ready to throw children into danger.

Erina tried to coax the raging brunette, the blonde archer brought up that there was a silver lining. They had received a large compensation practically triple the amount of the original reward.

"Dang, we really pulled a Team 7 shit right here." Cynthia couldn't help but exclaim. She now leaning on her elbow as recalled the show. What's next? Were they gonna fight some evil vengeful ninja lord?

Cynthia groaned, slumping against the table. Don't get her wrong, that would be bloody exciting but she would prefer your ordinary adventure journey that isn't burdened by an annoying plot or sadistic authors. Especially at their level, she wouldn't dream of fighting such dangerous people.
