I'm Sorry

No the book isn't being discontinued. This is a formal apology, because I realized that I had typed something that may seem offensive to black people. I have not been confronted about it by black people and mixed with black (that I currently know of because profile pics don't really help at all most of the time), but I would like to formally apologize.

In the information page, I had described what Bia would look like if she was not the Energiro Archon (you can go to the info page to take a look). What I said about specifically her hair, I said "I have seen some black people have straight hair, or some have their hair in braids or poofy (I don't know if I should have said that)." The term poofy, I'm assuming, is a bad/negative way of describing black hair. On Wattpad specifically, someone told me having poofy hair is not the same as having an afro. I told them I did not know the terminology due myself not being black and the area I live in not being diverse.

Someone different had commented saying that the area not being diverse is not an excuse, and that I could have just looked it up. When I do look something up, especially when it comes to something that isn't part of my culture, I do as much research as I can. The main problem for me, is that I feel like if I use the terminology that is recommended, I will get a flood of people telling me that it isn't the right terminology, and that I should know better. This has happened in the past, and I have tried to avoid situations like that again because the negative comments I got so long ago made me feel like the idea of writing was the worst idea I had ever made because I thought I had offended people, and it took a toll on my emotional state because I felt like I had offended and hurt so many people.

This is specifically to my black audience, so if you are not black specifically or mixed with black, you do not have the right to accept my apology. I am very, deeply sorry if what I said had offended you. My area not being diverse is not an excuse for my lack of further research, not asking about the terminology because of my fear of possibly offending, and my fear all together. I would like to ask you to please educate me on terminology and things that I can write to describe black people so I do not offend you further on in my writing career. I will remove what I said and change it to the terminology that is supposed to be there instead of what I had written.

I am very sorry.
