Manners

Manners,

They say.

Say thank you,

They say.

But I have nothing to thank for,

I have no one to thank.

Say please,

They say.

But I plead for nothing

For only hearts plead.

And you stole mine.

Say you're welcome,

They say.

But I have no reason to say this,

For no one says thank you.

Say good morning and good bye,

They say.

But I see no one,

And you were the one who waved me adieu.
