"Can I ask you something?" I asked Cole as we stood in line to board the plane.

"Anything."

"Why were you so distant the day before asking me?"

"It's called an element of surprise."

I eyed him, "Really?"

"I swear! Gabe thought that it would be more romantic if you thought I was angry at you or something."

"Remind me to kick him in the balls."

He chuckled.

"What's your seat?" He asked.

"1B."

"Shoot."

"Why, what's yours?"

"3D."

"Sorry."

We entered the plane and I found out that I was sitting next to Sarah.

My heart leaped out of joy, I had so much to tell her.

Just as I was about to sit next to her, Cole approached us.

"I'll give you a twenty if you let me sit next to Marley."

Sarah analyzed the situation, "Who are you sitting with?"

"Vaughns."

"Then it's gonna take a lot more than a twenty, Pendery. I suggest you go back to your seat."

I gave him a sympathetic smile. With a frustrated grunt, he went back to his seat.

"Wow," said Sarah as she turned to face me, "you look like hell."

"Glad to know you're not afraid to be brutally honest."

She chuckled, "But seriously, Mar. What's bugging you?"

"A text."

"Show it to me."

I scrambled for my cellphone and showed her the text that was still plastered in my mind.

'You deserve better. I could be better for you.'

"Okay, now this, this explains why you look like hell."

I sighed and snatched the phone from her hands, "He was drunk. I saw him pour alcohol into his drink."

"You need to talk to him."

"Thank you, Captain Obvious," I said, "I've tried, he keeps avoiding me."

"I would to. That text definitely makes my top hundred for most embarrassing texts of the twenty first century."

I laughed, "How do I get him to talk to me?"

"Force him."

The plane took off and the instant the captain turned the seatbelt sign off, I ran to Cole and Dana.

"Babe, switch with me."

"What? Why?"

"It's just for a minute. I need to talk to Dana."

"O-Okay?" He said as he pranced off to Sarah.

I sat in Cole's seat. "Why'd you send me that text?"

"What text?"

"Seriously?"

He shrugged. I sighed and showed him the text.

"I sent that to you?" He asked, a little too quickly for my taste.
