There was a point in time where Alaska Barnes could've sworn hers and Atlas Cohen's souls had sprouted from the same soil.
A time when she didn't have to try to know him, because to know him was to know herself. Their brains both swimming among the same sea of stars.
The two of them both grew up in the Springfield QZ, yet were from two very different backgrounds. After meeting abruptly in the QZ's military school, both children there for different reasons, they became fast friends, even with their differences.
Alaska, was as Atlas would describe 'sunshine in the form of a human'. Extroverted with bronzed skin, dark brown hair and a smile that could light up any room in mere seconds. The girl didn't even have to try to get people to like her, her essence just seemed to be crafted out of pure sunlight.
Atlas on the other hand didn't share many of these qualities, opting for spending his time alone rather than in company. Though, there was one exception to that statement: his little brother, James.
