"hi," soojin slowly drawled, shooting glares at the several interns surrounding her. there was a chuckle on the other line, "hi. what was that?"

"a bunch of bored teenagers teaming up against an old lady."

"we're not teenagers!"

kun's light giggle turned into full laughter that forced a smile on soojin's face. "so, they want us to go on a date?"

it was quiet for a moment as the ravenette thought of what to say. she was nervous about what his answer would be, and the numerous eyes on her didn't exactly help. she cleared her throat, "uh, well... yes?"

"you don't sound very convinced."

"well," soojin bit her lip as she sank into the swivelly desk chair, "if i did ask you on a date, what would your answer be?"

she could hear her heartbeat in her ears. "why don't you ask and find out?"

hands flew to mouths as the interns did their best to keep their excitement to a minimum. meanwhile, soojin was struggling to come up with a suitable response. she finally let a smirk tug at her lips, "damn, i didn't take you as the flirty type anymore."

"well, ask and you shall receive, love."

fuck. that nickname always caused her heart to catch in her throat.

"go on a date with me. a real one, where no hotline boys will interrupt us."

there was a pause on the other line as kun contemplated his response. he didn't think they acted much differently towards each other than how friends would, but then he remembered how his heart skipped a beat when she smiled at him and sucked in a breath. "yeah. i'd love to."

soojin reddened, "wait, really?"

"really."

"o-okay! i'll text you the time and location."

"it's a date."
