Riven who had slept in one of the freshmen's room, did not seem too happy to be within fifty metres of them. Timmy, unfortunately was out of the loop so all he could do was ask questions which he didn't get any answers for.
The five specialists got to Saladin’s office, lined up like the good soldiers they were training to be. Saladin was seated behind his desk while Codatorta stood at his side. Levi was surprised that the man actually informed Saladin when he could have handled it himself.
“I assume you all know why you’re here?” Saladin said. Timmy glanced between them as the boys kept their eyes in front. They knew why they were here. It was because of Riven's transfer request.
Codatorta heaved a heavy sigh. “Talk to me, boys. I thought you were finally working well together?”
They were all silent, staring pointedly at the wall above Saladin’s head.
“Irreconcilable differences,” Riven said stiffly, at last.Codatorta did not look amused by his response. “Riven, your request has been denied.”
They all gaped in shock but only Riven was stupid enough to argue.
“Wh-what? But I—”Saladin stood up from his desk. “Riven, your request has been denied. I don’t know why you don’t want to be in this squad and I do not care. I will not disrupt everyone else just because you five had a disagreement,” Saladin said. “So, this is what we'll do. Riven will work in the stables for a three weeks since he seems to be the only one who doesn't want to work in this squad and the four of you will be a team for those weeks.”
Levi frowned. “And after those three weeks?”
“Either you five work out the disagreement between you or you'll fail the year. Understood?”
Levi glanced over at Riven who looked mad but he knew he wouldn't be able to do anything since it was an order.
“Understood?!” Codatorta asked causing the boys to jump.“Yes, Sir,” they replied in unison and Codatorta nodded in satisfaction.
“Now get to your classes now. Except for you Levi.”
Timmy gave Levi a smile as the four of them shuffled out of the office. Codatorta nodded when Saladin glanced at him and he left the offfice leaving Levi alone with Headmaster Saladin.
“You are the captain of this squad Levi. You are supposed to look out for them.”
Of course the blame would be placed on him. He was partly at fault for not speaking with Riven before he put in tbe transfer request. He just didn't think Riven would actually go through with it.
“They've been like this since before I even came back. It's not on me,” Levi said before Saladin could scold him. Saladin sighed, staring at the boy. “You're supposed to lead and help them.”
“I am but I will try harder to sort this out.”
“Good.”
Levi nodded. “Can I go now?”
Saladin reached for an envelope on his desk and he held it out to Levi. “This is from your aunt. She wasn't able to give you your allowance for last month so she doubled it for this month.”
Levi thanked the man, taking the envelope. She should have transfered the money into his account instead of making him do it. “You should call her sometimes she misses you.”
