Chapter 38. Cheated

"Tell me, Maris?! Totoo ba ang lahat ng ito, ha?!"

His voice thundered and it echoed in every corner of his unit. Mariin akong napapikit at kahit na nanghihina na ay nagawa ko pa ring humakbang papalapit sa kaniya. Tumayo siya at nilukot ang larawan na hawak niya. He throw it somewhere furiously.

The picture... It was me and Kendrick, we're kissing on the photo and I don't know where did Treice get that. The picture was taken years ago.

"Ano?! Sabihin mo, totoo ba ang lahat ng 'to, ha?!" he asked me again, he's so damn furious.

Mas lalo akong nanlambot dahil sa boses niya. Nanlamig ang buong katawan ko pero sa kabila ng mga nararamdaman ko ay nagawa ko pa ring umiling sa kaniya. I was about to held his arm when he avoided my hand and stepped aside. I couldn't say anything because I am shaking.

"Tell me, Maris! Just tell me if everything was true!" His fist clenched same as how his jaw clenched. "Sabihin mo kung---"

"Y-Yes," I broke a voice as I cut him off. "A-All of the pictures are true, T-Treice," I added shakily.

Mapait siyang napangiti sa akin. "I-Ikaw at si K-Kenjay? M-Maris, really? Ikaw na asawa ko at siya na kaibigan ko. You two?" He even shook his head disbelievingly. "I felt so damn betrayed, Maris... H-How... How could you do this to me?!"

"T-Treice---"

"Ano, ha?! How did you two become close, huh?! Ano?! Hindi mo na ba ako mahal?! Did you already fell out the love, Maris?! Fuck! Okay naman tayo kahapon, eh! Okay tayo pero bakit naman biglang nagkaganito, ha?! Bakit?! What did I do to make you betray me like this?! Am I not enough?!"

"T-Treice, here me out---"

"Damn that fucking man! I thought... you two just met earlier in that fucking mall! Pero tingnan mo! Mas higit pa pala! Damn! Why am I so damn dumb?! Am I such a fool, Maris?!" His questions made my heart skipped. "I never... I never betrayed you, I tried my best not to hurt you but... why can't you do the same?!" he retorted. "M-Maris... why? W-Why can't you do the same?" he wearied.

"T-Treice, please... hear me out... hear me out, baby..." I beseeched pleadingly.

"I can't... I don't want to hear any painful words from you, Maris," he stopped me. "I don't know... Damn... Are you really my wife, but... why do I feel like you are not?"

"Treice... I am your wife. I love you and I do trust you. But... it's not easy to explain to you everything---"

"Kailan pa?" he cut me out. "Kailan pa naging kayo?!"

Naapatras ako nang umalingawngaw sa paligid ang boses ni Treice. Umiling ako sa kaniya at kinagat ang labi ko, kinokontrol ang sarili kong emosyon. Surely, Treice deserves to know the truth, he deserves to know everything. About my past and about Kendrick.

"Treice... matagal na naging kami---"

"Yeah, yeah! That's it, Maris! I am such a fool, right? Bakit hindi ko man lang 'to napansin noong una pa lang, hindi ba? Matagal na kayo? Kayo ng kaibigan ko?" Bumasag ang tinig niya. "Please... Please, don't tell me that you are his fiancee."

I lowered my head. "I am sorry, Treice, but Kendrick... He is not my fiancee, he was my fiancee."
