প্রেমের বসন্ত

আজি এই বসন্তের প্রভাতে,
তোমার জীবন ভরে উঠুক বসন্তের রঙেতে।।
কোকিলের কুহু গান কানে করে গুঞ্জন
প্রেমের নেশায় চারিদিক করে গমগম।

গত পৌষে, জানলার ওপারে
চেয়ে ছিলাম তোমরাই জন্যে।
কুয়াশায় ঢাকা চারিদিক -
খুঁজে চলেছিলাম আমি তোমায় দিকবিদিক।।
ভাবছিলাম কখন তুমি আসবে আর বলবে,
"কবে করবে তুমি আমায় বিয়ে?"

এখন যখন তুমি আমারই হয়ে গেছো,
চলো না গো,
একটু কলেজ স্ট্রিট এ যাই,
কফি হাউস এ বসে চা খাই।
হাতে হাত দিয়ে ভিক্টোরিয়া তে ঘুরে বেড়াই।
এই পৃথিবীতে থাকবেনা কেউ আর -
শুধু আমি আর তুমি, মিলে মিশে একাকার।

কখন ঘনিয়ে আসবে সন্ধে, বুঝতেই পারবনা
যদিও কোনো কিছুর পরোয়াই আমরা আর করিনা।
সমাজের উর্ধ্বে গিয়ে যখন একে অপরকে ভালোবেসেছি,
যায় আসে তাতে আর কি?

হে বন্ধু, কবে মুক্ত হবো আমি তোমার এই ' বন্ধু ' হওয়ার নাটক থেকে?
আমি যে তোমার, শুধু তোমারই, বলে দাও না সবাইকে?

Translation:

Love Spring

This spring morning,
Let your life be filled with colours of this spring.
The kuhu song of the cuckoo echoes in the ears,
Intoxicating the whole area with love.

Last winter, on the other side of the window,
I was waiting for you.
The fog surrounding the area-
I was busy looking for you hither and tither.
Thinking when you'll come and say,
"When will you marry me?"

Now when you're mine,
Let's thy be gone,
To college Street,
To coffee house for a cup of tea.
Hand in hand, we'll roam around Victoria.
There'll be no one in this world-
Only you and me, in a world of unison.

When the evening will settle, we won't know,
We won't even care.
When we have gone beyond the taboos of our society and loved each other,
What do we need to fear for?

Hey friend, when will I be freed from doing the drama of playing the role of your 'friend'?
Why don't you just tell them, that I'm yours and only yours?

A/n : guys how much do you rate this out of 10? Do let me know. Started with a few Bengali poems because, yes, I'm proud to say that I love my mother tongue more than any other language. I really have a very strong feeling of emotion for it, so wanted to start off my new journey by starting with Bengali.
