Chapter 45. Husband

As the plane landed on the Philippine's airport, I can feel my knees trembling like how my hands shaking. Ramdam ko ang panlalambot ng katawan ko at hindi ko alam kung napapansin ba nina Jessica at Phoenix ang panginginig ko.

Matapos sabihin ni Jessica na ihanda ang sarili at mga kagamitan ko ay halos magwala ako, lalo nang sabihin niyang pupunta kami ngayong araw sa Pilipinas. At ngayon ay nandito na kami. Wala akong magawa dahil pinilit ako ni Jessica at hindi niya talaga ako nilubayan hangga't hindi ako nag-iimpake.

Halos lutang na lutang ako at wala sa sarili. Napukaw lang ang atensyon ko nang makarating na kami sa mansyon nila rito sa Pilipinas. Si Phoenix ang humahatak ng bagahe ko at pati rin ng kaniyang bagahe, si Jessica naman ang sa kaniya. Hindi nila ako pinabuhat o pinahatak ng maleta dahil daw hindi ako puwedeng mabigatan. There's a child inside my womb and I should be aware.

"Wow!" Jessica wowed as she looked around on the place. "The Pilipinas is maganda! The country became more scenic! I never regretted that I came here!"

"Tsk, conyo." I heard Phoenix tsk-ed. "It's not because you're in the Philippines, you'll speak Tagalog even though you can't."

"Inggit ka lang kasi 'di mo knows mag-pronouce ng Tagalog words," Jessica mocked him. "There's a Philippine quote. 'Pag inggit, marunong itikom ang bibig. Now... cousin, you're inggit to me so better shut your mouth."

"You're so fucking disgusting---"

"Stop it, you two!" I stopped them. Pumagitna pa ako sa kanila. "You two are cousins! Stop mocking to each other!"

Pumasok kami sa kanilang mansyon dito sa Pilipinas. Phoenix lead and guided me to my room as we finally entered the house inside of the lot. Inihatid niya ako sa kuwarto at tinulungan sa paglalagay ng mga damit ko sa tokador at mga kagamitan ko sa loob ng silid.

"When are we going back to California?" I asked Phoenix.

"What?" His brows furrowed. "Steris, we just got here. Why? Did you already miss the California? Don't worry, once we go back there, I promise you to stroll the place again."

"Nix, I am just worried about my pregnancy," I reasoned. "Are we staying here for months?" I added a question.

He shrugged. "I don't know and I am not sure but maybe... we're staying here for a year?"

"What?!" napabulaslas ako dahil sa gulat. "N-No... I don't want to stay here any longer, Nix. What about my OB? And what about mrs. Smith on the California? No one's there for her and also, I can't stay longer here because I have a lot of things to do in California," I reasoned again.

"Steris, we are here to take care of the company while Jessica's parents are out of the country," Phoenix explained briefly. "They trusted us and as young ones, we should cooperate and participate---"

"I want to go back to the Los Angeles, Nix!" giit ko pa nang putulin siya. "I would rather die than to stay here for a year!"

"Steris, we have no choice. We're already here, okay?" he calmly said.

"Ugh! Why so sudden, Nix?!" I raised a voice because of irritation. "Why? You told me that we're going here after two months but look! We're so very early and I didn't expect this!"

He sighed. "I am sorry, alright?"

Bakit pa ba kasi ako sumama?! Eh, hayan tuloy! Napaaga na nga ang pagpunta namin, magtatagal pa kami! Great! Paano na 'to?! Mas mahihirapan na ako dahil magtatagal pa pala ako rito! So damn unexpected! Paano kapag magkita naman kami ni Treice at ano naman ang sasabihin niya?! Sana hindi na lang ako tumuloy at sumama rito, eh! Kabanas naman! I shouldn't let Jessica forced me to come with them!
