Nelson x Reader: Don't fuck this up

Government officials were coming to visit Syntec today. I was going to be demonstrating a trail for them today so a lot of pressure was on my shoulders. Espeically since my boss had been on my ass about not messing this up today. Knocking on the door causes me to look up from the trail papers in front of me. My boss, Nelson, stood at my doorway. 

"Are you ready?" Nelson asks. 

"Yes sir," I say getting up from my desk and grabbing my lab coat to slide on.

"Remember do not fuck this up," Nelson says to me. 

I take a deep breath, "Of course sir" I say before following him out of my office. 

Nelson lead me out to the front desk where government officials were standing there waiting for us. "Good Evening Gentlemen, I'm Nelson Syphus and this is Dr. L/N she will be performing the trial today." 

"Lead the way," One of the officials says. 

I nod before leading the group down the hall to the assigned trail room. I could hear Nelson talking to the officials about the progress we had made on Project Pegasus. I pick up the clipboard on the table near the patient. This patient was a 35-year-old male with the tendency to be violent. He was strapped down to the table for my safety along with the others in the room.

"Dr. L/N you may proceed with the trail," Nelson says after Wesley walks into the room. 

"Of course, sir," I say before pulling out my flashlight from my coat. 

"She's very loyal I see," An official says. 

"She's one of my favorite scientists. She is good at what she does" Nelson says. 

I check the vitals of the patient before starting the actual serum trial. The patient tries to bite me a few times while I was checking brain function. 

"That's not nice" I growl at the patient in a quiet voice. 

I grab the syringe off the counter. I administer the serum before setting the syringe down. The patient screams in pain as I watch my watch counting the seconds until the screams stop. I write down the number I counted before walking over to the patient to check the vitals. I didn't notice the patient had managed to get his restraints loose. The patient grabs ahold of my neck as he got out of bed. He throws me back into the counter behind me. I drop to the floor knocking over the tools that were on the counter catching my arm on a scalpel. I watch as Nelson and Wesley go to grab the patient to restrain him. I quickly leave as tears spill down my face before anyone could see me. 

Nelson's POV

Wesley sedates the patient and gets him strapped down on the bed. I turn to check on Y/N but she was gone. Blood was on the floor where she was thrown. 

"Wesley, can you finish this meeting up for me? Y/N left and I think she's hurt" I say gesturing to where she was.

"Go. I got it" Wesley says. 

I quickly leave the room and run down the hall to Y/N's office. I open the door to see her in tears trying to dig through a medical box. She looked like she was having a hard time standing on one of her ankles. 

"God, why did I have to screw everything up" She whispers.

"You didn't," I say causing her to jump and look at me. She starts to cry harder seeing me. I close the door and walk over to her. "Here let me help you" 

She holds her arm out to me. I could see where the scalpal had caught her arm. It wasn't super deep which is good. I clean it up before wrapping her arm. I help her into her chair.

"I'm sorry" She whispers. 

"For what?" I ask as I kneel down to work on her ankle. 

"Ruining the trial today," She says. 

"You didn't ruin anything. The patient attacked you. You didn't restrain him whoever did that didn't do it tight enough" I explain to her as I wrap her ankle. 

I help her stand up after her ankle was wrapped. I wanted to make sure she could walk, however, the moment she puts pressure on the ankle, it gives out. I grab her pulling her against my chest. She looks up at me, as she holds onto me. I swallow harshly before I kiss her. She leans into me as she kisses me back. I pull her even closer as I deepen the kiss. I pick her up and set her on her desk to get her off her ankle. I continue to kiss her as it slowly got heated. 

Coughing behind us causes me to pull from her. Wesley was standing in the doorway. "Sorry to interrupt but the government officials just left," Wesley says. 

"What did they say?" I ask. 

"They said that they are impressed with the progress we have been making but that we need to make sure all restraints are properly done before trials start since she could have been severally hurt" Wesley explains. 

"Thanks for the update," I say. 

"Of course. Dr. L/N I'm glad your okay we will make sure this doesn't ever happen again" Wesley says to her

"I appreciate it, Wesley," She says. 

He nods to her before leaving. I turn back to her as I reach back to close her door. I press my lips back to hers causing her to smile. "I know I'm hard on you but it's cause I have a soft spot for you. I don't want you to get hurt" I say to her. 

"I think I'm falling for you Nelson Syphus," She says to me. 

"Good cause I'm already in love with you" I say before pulling her into another kiss.
