As Barrow closed his eyes in acceptance of his own demise; He was greeted by nothing,
He didn't feel any pain nor any discomfort,
Instead, he felt a cold drop on the side of his face,
'What?'
Barrow opened his eyes in confusion, though, his confusion was soon amplified by the sight of the crying Hero.
The root dagger was raised just next to his red hair, ready to strike. But the hand that was holding it was shaking,
Soon, the dagger fell with a clatter and a warm embrace greeted Barrow as he felt his shoulder was slowly starting to soak.
"Why?..."
Barrow could hear the other muttered,
He doesn't even know when it happened, but he found himself patting the Hero's back.
It didn't comfort the other, instead, it made the red head's shoulder shook even more,
"Why did you destroy them?"
Though his hand was still patting his head, Barrow could only close his eyes to avoid seeing the other's face; "They killed you"
"I chose that path myself,"
"They pushed you to chose that path, it was no different than killing you"
Barrow managed to choke out the line, the flower's in his lungs were starting to creep up to his throat again, choking him from the insides. " 'I' was no different from them"
Barrow unconsciously held the other tighter, his vision was starting to fade from the lack of oxygen.
The hero, Cale, also held him back;
"You're not, I chose that myself,"
Barrow could feel his fingers grabbing his robe tightly,
"I--"
Cale dropped his head towards Barrow's shoulder, "I love you too much... I can't bare to see you die in my stead"
'Ah...'
Both of their knees gave out,
They both dropped towards the ground
'What an idiot...'
Barrow didn't even know who he was referring to anymore
"Let's run away,"
Cale said next to his ear, "Let's just run away" he repeated again. "I know you were just following their orders, we can just hide our identity and screw them over from behind the scenes. We can just let the heroes do the hard job"
Barrow couldn't help but laugh at what he was hearing,
It was so like him;
"Sure,"
Barrow finally opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was the bright smile on Cale's lips.
"Let's run away,"
