This is just going to be me talking for a little, so if you wanna skip that and go to the warnings, here's the sign to look out for: ✨✨✨

Now that's out of the way, if you stuck around, let me explain. When I write angst, or anything at all, I don't expect it to be good. Especially angst. So, when I get a comment like "I cried at this", it makes me happy. But only because I know the angst was some what good, or a moment was written well, not that someone cried. If that makes sense. Also, the amount of support given to such a shitty book is astounding to me. This was, originally, made for fun and I expected it to sort of flop, but nope. Sorry, I'm rambling, I'll get on to the story now.

✨✨✨

Warnings: kissing, smoking and hugging. If you do my like any of these, please do not read. Or do. It's up to you.

-----------

Soulmates.

When you find yours, your strings becomes visible to the other, and when your close it'll grow redder, and longer. If left alone, your string will blacken, like it's been burned. If it snaps, you can not try again. That is it.

You get this string when you're sixteen.

Some spend their whole lives devoted to finding this someone, and you watched as your friends turned sixteen and turned blind, running off and deserting you for their supposed lover. You turned sixteen and, amidst your party, your friends babbled on with their soulmates about how whoever it was was so, so lucky, and that you should immediately go and try to find them.

"No time like the present!" One said. You scoffed, "I'll find them when they prove they're worth my time." You pushed past them, reaching in your pocket to take out a cigarette. "Fuckin' soulmate bullshit." You mutter, taking a puff. Cats, dogs, tigers, everything to sentient robots had these strings. You glance down at yours, seeing it thrum with life, stretching out a little before disappearing, as the string does.

You roll your eyes, "whatever." And finish your cigarette.

~ Timeskip: two years later ~

You'd moved out first chance you got, your parents always trying to get you to go find 'the one', though none of their attempts worked.

You were playing Mario Kart eight deluxe when your phone dinged, making you pause in the middle of your game. Picking it up, you see it was your best friend, the only one who'd never pushed you to find your soulmate.

Yo, N/N, didn't you say you needed a job? Take a look at this!

It was a poster for Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, a night guard position. £30 per night, plus two free drinks per night, you just had to show up. It was such a good deal that anyone had to he applying, surely.

I appreciate this, but are you sure I've got a chance?

You knew that your friend worked there as a maintenance manager and would be able to get a good word in, but surely they'd want someone better?

No one's showed since it was put up yesterday! If you want, I'll get in contact with Vanessa and say you can do it?

You think it over, was it worth it?

Sure, if it's not too much hastle.

You decide yes, yes it is worth it.

I'll pick you up in two hours, okay?
She says she'll meet you and teach you how it works!

You text back a thanks, and say that you owe them, before putting your phone down at continuing your game.
You had a cup to win.

~ Timeskip: Waiting for your best friend ~

You sigh, looking about nervously. You'd showered, dressed in casual yet formal clothes when there was a knock on your door. You took a deep breath, put on a smile and opened the door. "Hey!" Your best friend yelled, hugging you. "Hey," you say back.

----------

"And that's it, really." Vannessa said, bringing you over to a locker. There she took out your uniform, handing I to you with a smile, "put that on and head to the superstar daycare, that's where you'll be for the night." You nod, and change quickly. When you emerge from the changing room, she's gone.

You shake your head, making your way up to the daycare.

Though, your string catches your eye. You pause, looking at it. For a while now, it's been black, you expected it to snap any day soon but now it was a vibrant red. You begin walking, watching it grow redder and longer the closer you get to the daycare.

This causes you to walk faster, who would you be paired with? You open The doors, now running. It leads down a slide, which you slide down, no hesitation.

You crash at the bottom, deciding to take it slow. Don't wanna come off desperate, now. It grows even longer and you almost throw up in anticipation when a. . . Robot skipped up to you?

"New friend! Hello!" The strings were now close, bright red and thrumming with life, but the robot had no idea. It makes you stumble back, falling onto the mismatched coloured playmat. Your soulmate was a robot. It wasn't even fucking human! What had you done to he given this cruel treatment?

But the more time you spent around him you start to blush, butterflies appearing in your stomach. His grin, his rays on his head. . . "Are you okay?" He asked, stretching his hand to you, looking worried, you blush, taking his hand. "Just fine."

He giggles, but pauses. "You have wonderful eyes." He says and you lean in. You shouldn't, you barely knew him! But. . . Did you have to? He leans in, his faceplate changing to a functioning mouth (minus a tongue, he wouldn't need one) and you wrapped your arms around his neck as you two kissed.

You pull away, instead hugging him. "This is nice." He said, and you nod. "Agreed."

_______________

This is the end, I hope you enjoyed! This was fun to remake!

(Funny story time; my big brother has now found out I wrote fanfiction. Not what I write about, just that i write, and now he wants to read some. I don't have anything besides this and I can't give him this he'll be concerned-)

Also, I was thinking of adding myself in one? As a coworker, I mean. I need some more opinions, though.

I hope you enjoyed, bye!
