🦋chapter 21: I can't take it anymore🦋
Y/n woke up with bad headache. She felt like her head was about to explode in a second and her body was really tired. She was about to have a busy morning, so she got up, hopped into the shower, put her best suit and left her apartment. She was running all morning from one office to another, she didn't even had time for her morning coffee. And, if you're a coffee person, you know what a struggle this is. Her assistant Jenny was on her head all morning about some pretty big case, that was coming next month. About a young businessman, who got sued for fraud.
"Do we know more about our future client or we still don't have much info?", y/n asked while moving around to prepare documents, her assistant was trying to keep up with her.
"We don't even have his name yet, but we know for sure that he's around his 20 something, maybe your age", Jenny explained.
"Does he have an appointment with me?", y/n suddenly turned to the girl causing Jenny to bump straight into her.
"Yes, for next Monday", Jenny rubbed her head and let out a silent 'ouch' without y/n seeing her, then she continued to follow.
"Okay", y/n grabbed her purse and phone, that she still haven't checked, and headed to the door, "I'm going for a coffee. Make sure nothing gets broken, while I'm gone".
"Gosh, it was one time..and I said I was sorry for that painting", Jenny rolled her eyes. She was so lucky that she was y/n's friend from college or she would've fired her a long time ago.
Y/n smiled at her before leaving her office to her Tesla. Yes, she has a Tesla. I'm face she has around 15 cars to pick from. She got in and drove to her favourite cafe Stardumbs (get it, cuz they coffee ain't that good..you didn't get it? Nvm then). She parked her car in completely wrong way and got out slamming the door after her. It was really stressful morning, an you blame her? Before walking in, y/n got a pill for her headache from her purse and took it, then she raised her head up and walked in like she owns the place. As she should, periodt! She walked up tho the cashier and greeted her with a smile.
"Good morning, miss l/n, the usual?", the younger girl asked. She looked too young to work in such stressful job. Maybe she was a college student in need.
"No, no", y/n let out a big sigh and continued to smile thru all the tiredness she felt, "I want large black coffee with no sugar, no whip cream and no ice", she explained.
"Stressful morning?", the cashier gave her a sorry look and began to make her order.
"You can bet on it".
Y/n moved to the side to wait for her other and looked around for a table far away from people and quiet enough to continue her work. As she was looking her eyes stopped on a boy. His hair put in front of his eyes, a lot of food in front of him, but that hair...she can recognise it every where. It was Hanma. All tho...he looked like he haven't slept at all yesterday and his hoodie was really big, which made her remember, that Hanma only wears big hoodies, when he didn't feel like putting any effort. He still looks good tho, he always does.
He picked his coffee to sip from it, even his movements were slow. He definitely didn't slept well last night. And he was smoking. Looks like he came back to his old habits. The cashier gave y/n her order and she was ready to go, but something told her to stay. I need to be bold this time, she thought to herself and started walking towards Hanma. The sound of her heels got his attention and he looked right at her direction. He could feel his face heating up. The way she was walking like it was on a slow motion, her pose, everything screamed confidence. She was dressed in a nice red suit and not too long/not too short skirt. Her shirt had a V neck and her boobs looked even bigger than before...respectfully. Y/n pulled back the chair in front of Hanma and sat down, then she looked at him with a smile. E returned it, but he didn't felt like smiling. He was so tired.
"What's your problem?", straight to the point, y/n didn't had any time to waste. Hanma was too tired to function and he let out a 'huh' after he heard her question. "Yesterday you acted like I broke into your house and fucked your girlfriend. What's your deal?".
Hanma smiled to himself. Looks like Harvard changed her a lot. She wasn't that shy girl any more, she was bold and independent, she was completely different and he loved it. It actually turned him on...respectfully. "Let me wake up first, will ya?", he said and chuckled.
"I'm a working woman. I don't have time to waste. Time is money, sweetie", y/n said with a smile. It was obvious she didn't take it too seriously, but still..she wanted to know.
"Everyone works, you're not the only one, sweetie", he teased her as he put specific tone on the word 'sweetie'. Y/n felt like her cheeks were really red now, but she brushed that thought away and looked straight into his eyes. Hanma was smiling, clearly enjoying teasing her..just like he always did.
"Anyway, tell me what's your problem with me, I was trying to be nice, but..".
"Aren't you the one, who cut contact with me on our graduation?", Hanma cuts her off and immediately y/n felt guilt in her heart. He was right. She's the one, who cut contact. Hanma looked at her waiting for her response.
"I...I guess you're right. I'm sorry".
"Man, I'm not bothered at all. I was mad for a very long time, but at the end of the day..you had your goals...and I wasn't one of them".
Hanma forced himself to drink a full cup of coffee just to avoid continuing this conversation with her. He got up and walked past her to put his cup in the trash, then he got his pack of cigarettes of the table and started walking away feeling guilty for what he said. I can't take it anymore, y/n thought to herself and stood up turning to him. She felt rage going thru her body and she clinched her fists.
"Weren't you the one, who cheated?", she shouted and the whole place turned to see what's going on. Hanma stops.
"I didn't cheat. I didn't even touch her, but you never believed me, right?", he turned to face her and walked up to her pretty fast. It looked like things are about to escalate. "Admit it, y/n, you never believed me. You know I haven't even looked at her, but you just wanted to remove me from your life, because I wasn't part of your perfect future".
"That's not true at all! You know I loved you so much, you were my first love, Shuji", she called him by his first name making him soft again.
"I loved you too and I still do, y/n. Why don't you believe me, that I didn't cheat?".
Right before y/n could say something, her phone started ringing. It was her assistant and she had to pick up, so she left the scene leaving Hanma with no answer. I guess this isn't the end.
