"It's so sad" Victoria says walking down the street.

"I know" Lorelai agrees. "Was Luke like shaken over his uncle dying?" Rory asks.

"I don't know, he's so unflappable. It's hard to tell" Lorelai answers. "The man definitely can't be flapped" Victoria comments before they walk in Luke's. "Hey, what you doing?" Lorelai asks seeing Luke on the phone carrying five plates and the coffee pot.

"I'm on the phone" Luke says as each girl takes a plate out of his hands.

"We noticed" Lorelai replies. "I can't serve and be on the phone" Luke says.

"We noticed that too. Your reenactment of Jerry Lewis in The Diner Guy is gonna wow the critics" Victoria tells him. "Where should the poached eggs go?" Rory asks. "Crank in the hat" Luke answers.

"Hey I'm not a crank. You're a crank, crank" the crank speaks up.

"He is a crank" Rory mutters before bringing him the eggs. "Pancakes?" Victoria asks.

"Red t-shirt" Luke answers. "And the french toast?" Lorelai asks him. "Lady with the big purse" Luke tells her.

"Hey, fall back, cowboy" Lorelai says pulling him back when he tries walking away.

"Whoa, whoa, what are you doing?" Luke asks. "Come here. Just stay on the phone and give me these" Lorelai says taking two more plates from him.

"Where do they go?" She asks him. "Table by the window" Luke answers. "Don't you number your tables?" Victoria asks.

"No" Luke replies.

"You should number your tables" Lorelai comments. "He should, shouldn't he" Victoria agrees.

"If I said a number, you wouldn't know what table's what number" Luke points out. "But all restaurants number their tables. You should number your tables" Lorelai keeps going. "Table five, they go to table five" Luke gives in.

"Cool, which one's that?" Lorelai asks.

"Table by the window" Luke answers. "By the window Wilma" Lorelai says handing Victoria the plates.

"Got it, Gertie" Victoria says taking the plates.

"Taylor's wigging" Rory says walking behind the counter to her sister.

"I know, he's been sitting there like the final days of Dick Nixon for almost an hour" Victoria replies before going to bring someone their order. "Keep an eye on him" Rory says.

"Hi" Lorelai says as her and Luke walk in Luke's after Luke's uncle Louie's funeral.

"What's going on?" Luke asks shocked to see everyone there. "It's kind of like a wake" Rory answers.

"A wake?" Luke questions. "For Louie?" Lorelai asks. "I thought you set it up" Victoria says.

"I-I didn't set it up" Lorelai replies.

"Well, it's going well, anyway" Rory says before walking away. "People brought a ton of food, if you guys are hungry" Victoria tells them.

"This is unexpected" Luke comments. "Very" Lorelai agrees. "Don't you have wakes for people you like?" Luke asks.

"I think it might be for you" Victoria says.

"Am I dead?" Luke asks. "Face it Luke, people like you" Lorelai tells him.

"Shut up" Luke says. "With charm like that how can they resist?" Victoria jokes.

"Hey, how was the funeral?" Tristan asks as he answers the phone.

"Good, sweet. More emotional than I expected" Victoria answers. "You okay?" Tristan asks her.

"Yeah, it's just seeing Luke all worked up. He kept claiming that he didn't really care about his uncle and that the only reason he was doing all that was for his dad but I just can't imagine losing anyone in my family" Victoria replies. "You don't have to worry about that right now, everyone's fine" Tristan tells her. "I know, but everyone dies someday. Eventually I'm going to lose my grandparents, then my mom, I might even out live Rory" Victoria says.

"I guess I just never really realized how much death freaks me out" she adds.

"Well hopefully it'll be a long time before you have to worry about that, for now just try and focus on something else" Tristan says. "Okay, so how are things at boarding school?" Victoria asks him.

"Well the biggest pro and con of going to the same boarding school as my cousin are that him and his friends are constantly in my dorm" Tristan tells her. "Pro and con?" Victoria questions. "They're great guys, they're fun guys. They might be a little too fun" Tristan answers.

"Define too fun" Victoria says.

"Getting drunk and wanting to do very very stupid and usually illegal things" Tristan replies. "Ah, and you've put your days of doing stupid illegal things behind you. Right?" Victoria asks him.

"Considering the last stupid semi illegal thing I did got me shipped away to boarding school, yeah I'd say I'm trying not to screw up again" Tristan answers. "Semi illegal? We're talking about you breaking into a safe right?" Victoria asks. "He had a key" Tristan replies.

"Still pretty sure it's illegal" Victoria says.

"Either way, it's in the past" Tristan responds. "Good, I should probably get going. It's getting late and I still wanna take a shower before bed" Victoria tells him.

"Okay, goodnight" Tristan says. "Goodnight" Victoria says back before hanging up.

How is it that I've been putting in more effort lately yet the chapters are coming out shorter and shorter?
Idk but I've already written like two scenes of the next chapter and it's already longer than this one so
