chapter 6

Addy's POV.

   It has been a week since I last saw Ethan but I can't help feeling paranoid, whenever I go out I can't help but feel as though I'm been watched I often find myself checking my environment for any suspicious activity but I know it's just my mind playing dirty tricks on me. All I seem to be able to do is get ready to go to work, take Bethany to school and come back home, my Dad seems to have noticed the change in me and when he asked me what was wrong with me I told him I was just feeling under the weather, he seemed to have bought it but of course my Mum didn't since she knows me like the back of her hands, I can remember her looking stressed when she saw how dull looking my face was when I video called her two days ago and so I had to tell her.

  To say she was shocked would be an understatement with the look that was on her face, I couldn't help but laugh at her expression, she then asked what I was going to do and I told her I hadn't no clue on what to do, she told me to take it slowly seeing as she was the only one who knows Ethan is the father of my baby and 'Ivy' my best friend who I haven't talked to in a while, I know Ivy wouldn't take it lightly as she isn't one who lets things go easily, I'll make sure to call her later once I get back seeing as i'm about to go pick up Bethany from school and then I'll head to the grocery store for shopping  as i'm out of groceries.

  Finally I made my way out of the house and when I got to her school, I gave my pass card to the security at the school gate before I was allowed in, I found a space to park and I came down from the car and headed to her class where I knew she would be waiting for me as usual, I got to her class and saw her teacher by the door.

"Good day ma'am", she greeted

"Oh hi", I answered, "and besides how many times have I told you to call me Addison" I said smiling up at her.

  "Okay Addison", she said smiling back

  And of course I saw my baby girl running towards me, when she was near me she flung herself into my waiting hands.

   "How many times have I told you to stop running". I said running my hands through her soft silky blonde hair which was one of the traits she had gotten from her Dad and her big green eyes which when looking at them you could get lost in, one of the favorite thing I like about her features asides those she was all me, with cute little nose, oval shaped face and a beautiful smile which always shows off her dimple.

  "But Mummy I missed you", she said pouting her lips which made her look so adorable that I couldn't help but pinch her cheeks.

   "Mummy missed you baby" I said laughing and bringing her into my chest as I inhaled her baby scent which always seems to ease me everytime.

    "Say bye to your Teacher we are leaving" I told her as I picked up her bags and held her hands and straightened myself up, after sayings our goodbyes, we left and went to the parking lot where I had parked my car, once getting in I strapped her in the car seat as she rambled on how her day went at school.

   I started the car and drove off, I felt someone pulling my pants which brought me out of my review and saw Bethany looking up at me with a wide cheeky grin on her face I couldn't help but smile back, she always seem to put a smile on my face every time.
 
   "Mummy do you know that today my Teacher told everyone in the class to clap for me because I was able to recite the rhyme correctly", she said excitedly.

   "Oh is that true, mummy is so proud of you baby"  I answered her back while ruffling her hair.

   We got to the grocery store and came down from the car.

   "Baby mummy has to get some things for the house " I said to her as she bounced on her heels ready to go into the store, as we walked through the door of the store we entered, I know she was happy to be here with me as she loves grocery shopping so she can pick all her favorite cereals and candies but I made sure she would always have her fruits and vegetables as I had told her "no vegetables equals  no cereals" she bought it as there is no kid who doesn't like sweet things so it's a fair trade.

   I grabbed a trolley and put Bethany inside seeing she weighs very little and I started putting the things on my list inside the trolley, I saw Bethany pointing at something and I realised it was her favourite cereal fruit loops, I stretched to get it and also decided to get coco pops for myself, once I saw I had gotten everything on my list I decided to go to the counter to pay as I was pushing my trolley forward I bumped into a young lady whose bag fell on the floor and she bent to pick it up.

    "I'm so sorry miss" I said quickly while trying to help her arrange her things, she finally rose her head and I was surprised to see who it was.

   There standing before my eyes was an old friend whom I had cut ties from five years ago and someone i haven't planned on meeting anytime soon seeing as her brother was the one who had caused me pain, standing before me was "Lizzie" Ethan's sister who was once a close friend of mine and like a little sister even if I was just a year older than she is, we used to be so close but after that fateful day, I stopped talking to her changed my number and cut ties with anyone that had anything to do with him, looking at her I noticed she has changed a little her once blonde hair is two shades darker than before and she seemed to have grown more beautiful loosing that baby fat she once had, the last time I saw her she was just nineteen but looking at her now she seemed to have outgrown those baby looks and she looks more matured and sexy even if she was just in jeans and a crop sweatshirt and sneakers.

  Finally coming back to my senses I stopped the staring match we seemed to be having and turned around to go to the counter to pay for my stuff and get out of here quickly, I saw Bethany looking up at me clueless, while I peeked a glance at Lizzie she seemed to have come out of shock as she was now looking at Bethany wide eyed, as I turned around to leave she called out to me while holding my spare hand.

   "Wow Addy it's been such a long time", she said looking at me, shock still evident in her eyes.

   "Oh Lizzie hey, nice seeing you" I said and turned around and went to pay, once my things were packaged I grabbed them and then held Bethany as we went out and got into the car, I could still see Lizzie looking at me through my rearview mirror seems she had followed me outside.

  Once I started the car and drove off I could help the relief that flooded my system and the sigh that came out of my lips, I hadn't expected to see her here of all places for goodness sake she was supposed to be back home in LA, but seeing as her brother is here it's no surprise she is here also, I just don't even want to think of the outcome of meeting her today.
