Scott x Reader: I know her - Part 1

Scott's POV

"Just... just get Wes. He can tell you I work here" I say to the group in front of me.

I had just showed up to Syntec to start work but these random people were here telling me that this was Syntec anymore. That didn't make sense since I was just here yesterday. The door opens behind me so I step aside. A h/c female walks past me, eyeing me curiously.

"Hi Y/N" The guy holding the camera says to her.

"Hi Matt" Y/N says to him "Sorry for being late. Couldn't remember where I put my keys again"

"It's alright I got your voice memo." Matt says to her.

"Hey guys" She says to the others before leaning to one of the girls "Who's the guy?"

"He says his name is Scott. That he works here at Syntec. That he was here yesterday" the girl tells her.

"Oh. Scott Syntec hasn't been here in over 7 years, I would know better than anyone." She says when she rubs the back of her neck nervously, I could see the Syntec Trial Patient number on her wrist. "Matt owns this building now."

She turns to walk down the hall when she bumbs into another guy. The guy's drink spills onto her shirt.

"Shit sorry Y/N" The guys says.

She laugh slightly "It's cool Tanner" She says to tanner. "Doesn't anyone have a jacket I can borrow until i change?"

"Here" I say to her putting my briefcase down. I pull my jacket off and holds it out to her.

I watch her hesitate before taking the jacket. She slips it on before walking upstairs.

"She's an experiment from Syntec" I say looking to those in front of me.

"How do you know that?" Matt asks.

"Her id number on her wrist. She was presumed dead though" I say. "I took care of her while at work. She was alot younger then"

I watch her walk back down the stairs in a clean shirt. She holds my jacket out to me. I could clearly see her number on her wrist. I take my jacket from her gently.

"Thank you" She says before walking to Matt.

"Y/N, I know you're memory isn't the greatest but do you remember anymore from Syntec?" Matt asks.

"Nelson is the only name I remember. I do remember a scientist though who took care of me. I don't remember what he looks like or what his name is." Y/N answers.

"So you wouldn't be able to tell us if actually works at Syntec?" Matt asks.

Y/N looks over at me. She looks me over before looking back at Matt "I don't know him so no. Sorry" She says

"That's alright. Can you go through the mail in the mailroom?" Matt asks her.

"Of course" She says before heading down into another room.

"What happened to her memory?" I ask.

"What do you mean? Her memory has always been bad" Matt says.

"No- No she was the smartest patient at Syntec. She would remember and recite every word spoken to her or that she read." I say.

I eventually left. I knew Nelson had something to do with this. I was going to fix it so she could remember me. So she could remember how much I care for her.
