Rory's POV -
We get to The Carver in time for dinner. "Just in time. We're about to order," my dad says.
"You know what I'll have."
"Maybe. Cheese burger and fries with salad and water?"
"Of course. How long have you been here?"
"15 minutes. Maybe more."
"Try 20," my sister says. She looks more miserable than usual. Good. I assume Edward turned her down again.
"Bella."
"What it's true."
"It's rude."
"It's fine. You really shouldn't have waited. I would've had anything you ordered me. Except veggie burger. But you couldn't order that with a straight face."
"Come here kid." I walk over to him and he side hugs me. Dad's not a hugger, so I hugged back. But I winced a little as he put too much pressure on my bruise. I pray that he doesn't notice, but God doesn't answer my prayers. Probably because I've never prayed before.
"Hey kid. You okay?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine."
"We are talking about this later."
"Fine."

We spend the rest of the meal talking about school, and I hope that he forgets but of course once we get home after he drives the two of us home in the cruiser.
"Kid. Lift up your shirt."
"No?"
"Lift up your damn shirt!" Shocked by his sudden out burst, I take off my coat and hoodie and lifted up my t-shirt. I see his face when  he sees the purple.
"Did Edward do this?"
"What?!?"
"Rory. Did Edward do this?"
"Of course not."
"Are you sure? If he did this, you need to tell me."
"Trust me. He didn't do this."
"Then who did? Who did this to you?"
"No one. It's fine."
"No it's not. Who did this?"
"No one. I just fell, alright."
"Please son. This isn't some game. Someone is hurting you. Someone is hurting my child. And I need to know who it is."
"Please drop this. It was one time. Please."
"I can't Rory! This isn't something a father can just let go."
"I'm going to bed." I turn to go.
"RORY IAN HENRY SWAN! YOU WILL STAY HERE UNTIL YOU TELL ME WHO HAVE YOU THOSE BRUISES!"
"Please. Let it go. I'll tell you. I will. But not now. When I'm ready." There are tears dripping down my face. He pulls me into his arms and I cry into his shoulder.
"I trust you kiddo. But if they hurt you again, you come right to me. Okay son. You tell me straight away and I'll arrest them."
"Okay Dad. Thanks."
"What for?"
"Being there. Supporting me. Always."
"What else are Dads for?"
"Love you, dad."
"Love you too kid."
