Chapter 2

Evelyn's Pov

I ate the fish silently while Anne brushing the dirt in her dress "Leave it there, you have to eat now." I said. "Yeah, if you keep cleaning and brushing it for hour then there's a possibility that I am going to eat the last fish" Carl said while acting to take the last fish.

Anne's eyes widened and quickly dropped the dress, walking towards us as she quickly grabbed the plate "dare do it cuz there is also a possibility of making your ear red" Anne replied and Carl gulped.

I chuckled "Will you guys be silent and eat? And you Carl, stop playing around and go find more fishes to eat this evening" I said, i think it is almost 5 in the afternoon but we ate lunch lately. Carl stood up "Good idea, why I didnt think of this earlier?" He asked. Making Anne laugh "because you are too very intelligent to think of it" Anne said.

Carl glared at her and sticks his tongue out, making Anne stood up then Carl quickly ran outside but I stopped her with a laugh "Now now, stay calm and finish your fish" I said still laughing.

We both eat our fish happily, "You know ever since Carl came, he became the funniest guy for me" I said while chuckling. "Well, more like the stupidest guy for me" Anne said and we both laughed together.

I grew up with Anne when I was 5 years old, we became friends. We were fatherless and motherless, the year 1516 when I was 9 years old we met Carl who was the funniest of all and we grew up together being kids to Adult.

About Carl, his father died in a battle when he was 12. So his mother took care of him, she got sick and died when he turned 18. He was left alone so we took care of each other.

Humming a tune as I walk to the village, I looked up to see the Castle so big. Well I think its just big because it's on top of the mountain. I said to my thoughts, I walked beside the shop when someone was stealing the fruits beside me.

I gasped and chases the Man, he goes into the forest and I kept chasing him. He was fast! So I jumped and stumble myself to him and making him fall to the ground "what are you doing huh, stealing!" I said loudly while my palm pressed against his cheek, making his face placed to the ground.

"What are you talking about, crazy woman!" He said, making him yelp as I pressed his face more to the ground. "Give me the fruits or I'll do something that you'll regret being born in this world" I said loudly again "I do not know!" He replied quickly.

I looked around his outfit, covered in dark cloak and I looked to his waist side. A sword! I widened my eyes and pressed his face more to the ground "Suspicious man on a dark cloak steals fruits and has a sword!" I said.

He shook his head "what are you talking about and Im not a thief, I was walking around the forest and-" I cutted him off "Assassin spy!" I said and The man shake his head, I began to drag him closer to the village "Anne help!!".

After minutes I saw Anne running towards our direction "What is this!" She asked and I replied "Assassin spy! he stole fruits from the village and has sword-" my words were cutted off as Anne hit the man's back with a branch, making him unconcious.

I widened my eyes "what are you doing!". Anne frowned "you know that stealing is forbidden that if someone does it, that person will be beheaded infront of the crowd. This man should be happy for just knocking him out." She replied.

I crossed my arms "you dont have to hit him like that! I was trying to let him tell the truth. Go and search him" I said and Anne searched his body "no fruits". She said and I frowned "did he ate it quickly?" I asked to myself.

I gasped and hold my head tightly "what if he's innocent!" Anne said. "No, dont be so sure. We have to bring him to the house and wait for him to wake up, let him tell the truth" I said and held his shoulder, Anne looked at me with a frown "help me carry him!". I said quickly.

Anne then held his two legs while I hold his arms. "I never carried a man in my life! Uh, but this man here is better than to carry Carl" Anne said while we carry him together around the forest to go easily to the house.

"Dont let anybody see us, come on were almost there" I said and we both go inside the house while carrying the suspicious man.
