Saturday, October 28th.

The day of Brian Mckenzie's Halloween party.

From the morning, I could see professionals wander in and out of his house, setting up for the event. This was definitely a big deal. In the evening, I looked out from my bedroom window, and I had to admit, it did look pretty cool from the outside. The house was completely covered in Halloween decorations like large cobwebs and spiders, and electric pumpkins were dotted around the porch, so everything glowed an orange color.

I couldn't lie...I was curious about what the inside looked like.

Oh well, the whole party will be online by morning. I'd just have to ignore it.

...Until midnight.

I decided to read a book on my bed.

By 8 PM, I heard people arrive outside, and by 8:30 PM music was booming from the house. I tried to ignore it but I was right next door, it was sort of impossible. As time went on, I heard more voices, and cars pull up.

I glanced out my window again, and then I saw him.

Brian.

He was sitting on his porch, dressed in his Halloween costume.

Damn this boy and his porch.

He immediately waved as he saw me. I tried to move away but it was too late.

"Hey! Amanda!" he called.

I sighed and opened my window. "Uh, hey!"

We had to talk loud over the volume of the music.

"Do you like my costume?"

I examined him and tried to piece together who he was. He wore a dark grey suit, a red tie, and a small American flag badge was pinned above his pocket.

"Who are you supposed to be?"

"Is it not obvious?"

"Not really."

"I'm the president of the United States!"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh." I smiled slightly. "President Mckenzie?"

He grinned.

"At your service, mam."

"Right. Well, that's cool, I guess."

"So when are you coming around?"

"I told you, I'm not."

"I think I can get you to change your mind."

"I don't think you can."

"Alright then", he sat on the balcony railing.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm gonna sit here until you come over."

He smiled as he swung his legs.

I frowned. "I don't think that's a very good idea."

Was this dude begging for people's attention?

He didn't say anything but continued to sit there, smiling at me like a damn puppet.

"Well...have fun sitting outside your own party", I closed my window.

Five minutes turned to ten, and then ten turned to fifteen and he was still there.

What the heck.

I got frustrated and opened my window again.

"Will you quit it?!"
