You sit in front of the vampire king, not knowing what to do or what to say.

The vampire only smiles at you, trying to ease your worry around him.

It was Maximilian's first time meeting you, which is entertaining for him to be around you.

"Did you know that I and your mother were engaged?"

Who in the world starts a conversation like that with this question? This can't get more awkward.

"No?" You respond.

'As if I care, you stupid bastard'

The King chuckles, as he leans back on the sofa.

"You know I can read your thoughts, right?" Your eyes widen.

"I know that you hate me for enslaving your pathetic kind" you narrow your eyes at him.

"In a few years, this hate will be replaced with respect once you turn into a vampire, dear" he finishes, taking a sip from his drink.

"I hate vampires...but not all of them"

Maximilian titles his head at your words, as you look down at your hands.

"I consider Celeste my mother" the king smiles upon hearing the name of his ex-fiancee.

"No one can really hate her, she is sweet"

You stare back up and notice the sad expression on the vampire king's face.

Which is satisfying to see.

The person who slaughtered many innocent people, adults, and children is now feeling sad.

"Your highness, what a great surprise to have you over"

You quickly stand up from your chair, as your adoptive parents walk into the living room.

"Indeed it is"

The vampire king stands up, walking over to your mother and father.

"You look beautiful as always, Celeste," he says.

Achilles watches with annoyance while Celeste is uncomfortable.

"Maid"

The woman you were speaking with earlier arrives within seconds.

"Yes, sir?"

"Take (Y/n) up to her room"

"As you wish, Sir"

Staying in your room for hours made you sleepy, but what kept you up is the fact that there is a knocking at your window.

A bird knocking on your window.

You walk over to your window and open it, allowing the small creature to enter.

You find a note tied to its leg.

Without thinking you untie it, and start reading it slowly.

I'm going to save you, wait for me until I come.

Get rid of this note as soon as possible.

From your biological father.

You stare down at it for a moment, trying to process what is written on it.

But instead of getting rid of it, you grab a pencil and start writing down on the empty side of it.

You are my dad? I need proof

You tie it on the unique bird's leg,  ready to allow it to fly away.

But, instead, a hand grabs the bird from you.

You look behind you to see Achilles holding the bird.

"Who are you sending notes to?"

You look at Achilles, knowing that he would know.

"My real dad" you reply, as he opens the note and starts reading it.

He looks back at you and smirks.

Before killing the bird with his sharp nails.
