Steven couldn't even speak, what had just happened? He'd never seen Marc so afraid or vulnerable. Marc stay on his knees panting as Steven looked at him through his reflection.

"Marc?" Steven whispered as Marc looked beside him to see Steven looking at him.

"It's okay, I'll sort this out." Marc muttered trying to steady his breath.

"Are you okay?" Steven whispered as Marc chuckled dryly.

"None of this makes me weak." Marc muttered as Steven looked at him in confusion.

"I would never think of you as weak Marc, never." Steven replied, Marc looked at Steven again and sighed.

"Khonshu won't be happy." Marc muttered rubbing his face and groaning.

"Will he hurt us?" Steven whispered as Marc stood up and looked at him.

"He can hurt me all he wants, but I won't let him hurt you. Don't worry." Marc said as Steven looked at him nervously.

"Why can't you ever let me protect you for a change?" Steven asked making Marc smile a little.

"I'm the protector Steven, it's my job." Marc said as Steven rubbed his arm and looked at Marc.

"I could protect you, you saw me fight that Jackal!" Steven retorted making Marc smile fondly.

"I know you could protect me Steven." Marc said as Steven returned his smile. Marc looked around making sure there was no one else left in the pyramid.

"Alright buddy, keep this between us." Marc whispered before giving Steven control of the body.

"Go look around, this is a once in a life time opportunity." Marc said as Steven's face lit up and he shifted on his feet like an excited child. Steven walked around and explained every little detail he could to Marc who just watched and smiled. Seeing the wonderment in Steven's eyes and hearing him talk was all Marc needed right now. He just needed Steven, his Steven.
