A/N: I just wanted to let you know that things might start to heat up between Dean and Willow. Things might take a sexual turn, perhaps in this chapter, perhaps in chapters to come. This will be your only warning.

Thank you so much for reading, liking, and commenting!!!

The story continues:

I grabbed a beer, twisted the lid off, and made my way back to the boys.

It was a beautiful day, and after yesterday's events, I was glad for the peace and quiet that the sun had brought. The water passing by glittered, and the resting spot Dean had picked was beautiful.

"Then I guess I'll just have to keep asking until you do," I overheard Sam tell his brother. They noticed me walk up to them, and Dean wrapped his arms around me. I rested my head on his chest, taking in his scent.

"I don't know, man. I just think maybe we ought to... go to the Grand Canyon."

"What?" Sam asked, surprised. I smiled at the thought and turned to face Sam, still wrapped in Dean's arms. I took a sip of my beer and basked in the sunlight on my face.

"Yeah, you know, all this driving back and forth across country, you know I've never been to the Grand Canyon? Or we could go to T.J. Or Hollywood, see if we can bang Lindsey Lohan." He squeezed me tighter, and I rolled my eyes at his words.

"You're not making any sense," Sam stated, brows furrowed.

"I just think we should take a break from all this," Dean continued to explain. "Why do we gotta get stuck with all the responsibility, you know? Why can't we live life a little bit?" I untangled myself from his arms to look at him.

"Why are you saying all of this?" I asked, not understanding what I missed. Dean shook his head and turned his back on us. I looked over to Sam as if waiting for him to explain, but his eyes were set on his brother.

"No, no, no, no, Dean. You're my brother, all right? So whatever weight you're carrying, let me help a little bit."

"Dean?" I put my hand on his shoulder, and he turned back to us again, taking a sip of his beer. He flexed his jaw, swallowing hard.

"I can't. I promised," Dean said, studying his brother's face.

"Who?"

"Dad."

I felt my mind begin to race again. The few hours of sleep I had gotten in the Impala seemed lost, and exhaustion overtook me once again.

"What are you talking about?" Sam asked. His voice low, and his feet shifted the weight between them.

Dean looked down, unable to look his brother in the eyes. I kept my eyes trained on him. Waiting for him to explain.

"Right before Dad died, he told me something." Dean looked up at Sam again, holding his gaze. "He told me something about you."

I felt my body stiffen and glanced over to Sam, noting how he tensed too. Even the sun seemed to hold its breath, and clouds rolled in.

"What?" Sam asked. It became quiet. "Dean, what did he tell you?"

"He said that he wanted me to watch out for you," Dean breathed out with difficulty. "to take care of you."

"He told you that a million times," Sam stated, shaking his head, but I suspected Dean wasn't finished. His face contorted into a frown as if he was in pain.

"No, this time was different. He said that I had to save you." My mind raced to all the fights I'd had with John, begging him to tell me what he knew about Sam.
