Familial Fluff

Don't get me wrong, I love my kids, and I love my husband, but a girl can only handle so much.
I have two amazing kids and another one on the way. My oldest son is 3 and a half, then my middle just turned two in April. I am currently five months pregnant with another boy.
Not that I'm complaining, I've always wanted boys, but Duff really wants a girl. Come to think of it, so do I.
It was never the plan to have kids co close to each other in age, it just kind of happened that way.

I love being a mom, I'd always dreamed of it ever since I was old enough to understand kids. Besides, they keep my life interesting, or stressful.

Yesterday, I was making breakfast and everything was fine. Until, my 2-year-old, Jackson, decided to throw a fit. He didn't want to eat and just cried and cried and cried.
Then my oldest, Devyn, decided that he needed juice. He needed to ask and ask and ask and ask.

"Mommy-"
He whined.

"Baby, I will give you juice as soon as I get your brother settled down."
I sighed, picking Jackson up from his high chair.

"But Mommy. I want juice now!"
He whined, beginning to fuss in his seat.

"Devyn. I give me just a minute. I know you want juice, but there's not a lot I can do until I get Jackson calm."

"Give me juice!"
He yelled, his face scrunching as he did so.

"Devyn Michael McKagen do not raise your voice at me."
I said sternly, giving him the look that he fears. I set down Jackson, who was now softly sniffling and hiccuping.

"Now. I will get you juice. But you need to understand when I'm busy, your whining does not help anything. Understood?"
I spoke calmly but sternly.

"Yes, Mom."
He said softly, looking down.

I nodded and picked up the plates while Devyn finished his juice.
By the time the dishes were washed and everything was wiped down, it was noon. Devyn was playing in the living room and Jackson was down for his nap.

"Mom?"
He called.

"Yea baby?"
I asked sitting on the couch.

"Why is Daddy gone a lot?"
He asked, moving to sit on my lap, but cautious of my bump.

"Daddy works a lot. So he has to go to work. He usually just goes across town."

"But what about when he doesn't come home?"

"That's when he goes on tour. Daddy, and Uncle Axl, Uncle Slash, Uncle Izzy, and-"

"Uncle Stevie!"
He exclaimed.
Steven was his favorite, probably because he was his biological uncle.

"Yup. They all leave for tour, but they always come home."
I smiled.

"How come you don't work?"

"Because Daddy doesn't want me to work. Plus, who would stay home to take care of you and your brothers."
I smiled, tickling his sides.
