Just a week ago, you thought you had control of your own fate. You were on a path to personal success. To only be stripped from that all so suddenly. It almost felt unfair to you. Why you? Sure you seemed above average for the most part. But, still average. So why?
You shook your head, shaking off your racing thoughts. Now's not the time to be paralyzed by your own thoughts. You still have control of your own fate, so now's the time to act on it.

"Alright, alright. I got this," you heaved a heavy sigh in an attempt to regulate your hyperventilating. You took a few moments of taking deep breaths in and out.

"I'm not going to be able to function if I can't even breathe correctly,"

You begin to fully take in your surroundings. It was simply a dark hallway. It resonated with the designs of a catacomb. But it stretched forward ceaselessly with light fog acting as a blockade for any sort of exit.

1st POV (suits the scene better)

I turn my head, looking back from where I came from only to be greeted face to face with a flat concrete wall. I tried trancing my hands around it, maybe there was some sort of secret button. But, to no avail, that type of thing seems to only occur in movies.
I heaved another sigh, "I guess all I can really do is walk forward...dunno for how long...hopefully not too long," I trailed my thoughts aloud. Hopefully talking to myself will keep me sane for a bit longer.

So, I begin my march forward...

[Timeskip brought to you by Toby accidentally burning his hand on a stove again]

I feel my throat becoming parched and my stomach beginning to growl, begging for some sort of food. I am unsure as to how long I've been walking, but for certain it's been more than four hours.

For the past hour, I've just been humming my favorite songs to myself to allude from the paralyzing silence. I was singing [insert your current favorite song] on repeat for the most part. My grip on sanity was slowly starting to falter.

"No...not yet," I mumbled to myself in hopes of motivation.

All I could do was continue my seemingly ceaseless walk.

Though, just when I thought my surroundings was a ceaseless hallway, the walls began to shift.

"Not this bullshit again..." I grumbled.
The floor a few feet in front of me began to seamlessly shift in form, completely defying any sort of laws of physics.

The area approximately 15 ft in front of me shifted into a staircase ascending up and behind me, a staircase descending down. Just before I could give any thought to it, the hissing sounds of latches could be heard faintly.
