god it's like all people want to do these days is skip work. all people want to do is sit at home and watch television, make dinner, brush the dog's winter coat out in the backyard. seems like all people want to do is sleep with the windows open, buy a nice sandwich, the kind with pesto or maybe mushrooms. all people want to do is get home safe, wear bell-bottom corduroys, paint orchids on the kitchen backsplash. all people want to do these days is lie under the magnolia tree with their mouth open, jump in the lake before it's too cold again, give sourdough starter and their ex second chances with more patience this time. all people want to do is skip work, make time, mend the sock. learn how to fix the sink that's been dripping for ages. repair the broken lock. maybe have a little time left over to sit, this still, and watch the sunset slip over the bathroom tiles.
